I cannot explain how much I love Block 16! So much I went to lunch on consecutive days during a business trip. If you are not paying attention, and the line is not extending outside the entrance, you might walk by. Don't make that mistake. Walk in to a funky, relaxed, hippy atmosphere. Everyone is nice, helpful and knowledgeable regarding the menu. The menu, deceptively descriptive; even after reading what each entree was I was still not sure exactly what it was. No worries both of my entrees were outstanding! Day 1 a Lamb Sausage sandwich with candied cucumbers and tomatoes. Best chicken sandwich I have ever had. The Brooke Chickenwich. It was perfectly fine seasoned, which is hard to find. The duck fries are unique as well, and as good as advertised. In fact, their whole menu looks excellent. My only advice is to know you order in a line environment, then grab a seat. It's popular so expect to wait a bit in line. We'll worth it, however. Such great food! We split the bacon brielt and then each got an order of crab rangoon fries. Would highly recommend both of these options. It?s a smallish restaurant, we did have a little bit of a wait to order, but the food came out in a timely manner. They do have a couple outdoor tables available for nicer days. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean.
This is my wife and my first time at Block 16 since we have moved to Omaha. We are definitely impressed with the menu and the flavor combinations this restaurant has created! Came for dinner on a Saturday night and despite the line to order, we got through quickly and food came out quick as well. Between the two of us we ordered the 3 happiness burger, bacon and brie sandwich, and dragon fries. I would definitely order them all again and come back next time we are in town!
We were so very impressed with the service, prices, Farm->Table method, and layout. I come from Seattle, and throw in a couple more bicyclists and I would have felt like I was back at a Farm->Table at home. Was a nice extra surprise to feel at home! We will definitely be visiting again.
I went at lunch time so it was busy but the food was served in about 15 minutes which was fast. I had the blackened elk burger with brie and asparagus slaw with an aioli. This was the daily special and while I typically don't like aioli's this combination blended very well together.
Great Place to grab lunch downtown, and a favorite for Omaha locals. Plenty of great sandwiches and amazing fries on the menu. But make sure that when you go, you have some time to burn because there is usually a pretty long line to order. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
On the plate ? the 24 hour brisket in a puff pastry, mashed potatoes with red wine gravy (today's special). In the baskets ? the 3-Happiness burger sans bun and the duck-duck-goose fries. Both were excellent. I love the food choices here.
