One of my favorite spots to visit! You might wonder why. It's the Open Jam on Sundays, which has no cover charge. If the new owners maintain this wonderful tradition, I can confidently say the place will be bustling. Everyone is excited to return with their friends. I hope the new owners realize that on Opening Day, the venue will be overflowing with people. I really hope they plan to have live bands on Friday and Saturday nights as well. Additionally, I hope they have enough servers to handle a full house. On a personal note, I met my husband there over nine years ago—my soul mate! We'll be the first in line when they unlock the doors.
The Entertainment is great. Have not eaten here as of yet so I can't really say. I was with a group, and some ordered food, looked great, smelled good except for the pizza, they were given the wrong pizza order, was told to eat it, it was burnt, when brought to the attention of the waitress, she got indignant, got the owners wife who started arguing with the table, then threatened to call the police. My friends ended up paying for an uneaten, burnt pizza. I would have preferred the police came and tasted the Fiasco. I can only report my experience. Others say food is good, especially the fried fish on Friday.
We checked out the Blue Goose to see Mainstreet Soul play. Cover was very reasonable at $6 a head and you are able to make reservations which was really nice. We had a seat close to the front of their stage area. The band was amazing, not too loud for the small space available. Not much of a dance floor but that was okay with us. We ordered a few drinks and appetizers, our waitress was very attentive and gave us a pitcher of water too. We came from a ways away so I would have liked to stay longer. But we had a great time and I would definitely stop in and check out their entertainment!
This place is awful. The service was slow and it reeked of cigarettes. I had to practically flail my arms to get the waitress' attention as she was busy gabbing with a regular. People were vaping at the bar which is nasty. I ordered Mike's Special which was supposed to be an 8 oz steak smothered in onions and mushrooms in an au jus sauce. Definitely not what I got. I got an unseasoned hamburger patty drowning in grease with mushrooms and onions on the side. If I had to say something nice, the fries were good but it's hard to screw them up. This is a 2.5-star review... The club sandwich, beer, service, and cleanliness all rate 4 stars. However, the wet burrito (the Tuesday special) was a big disappointment. What went wrong? It lacked flavor. While the portion size was generous and it was served hot, the seasoning was completely absent. I ordered it based on the server's recommendation, despite my initial skepticism. I should have inquired if the cook was Hispanic — my mistake!
I dropped by to catch a performance by The Classics, and they were excellent! I ordered a pint of Sam Adams Boston Lager for $4.75, which is a decent price. The server was very friendly, too. I was only there for about an hour and a half, so it’s a bit difficult to give a thorough review since I didn't eat anything and just had one beer. However, I definitely plan to return to try the food and enjoy more of the live music.
This place has been in The Shores for as long as I can remember, and the live music cannot be beat! It is hard to find bars that have good, live music. Blue Goose always hits it out of the park with their line ups! Music that everyone can enjoy, and there are usually people dancing. Service is good, even when it gets busy and loud. Great place to meet with friends and enjoy some live music!
Dropped in for a carryout for mom and had a good experience. Ellen at the register was very nice and friendly. Mom enjoyed her Seafood platter which included perch, cod, shrimp and clams along with fries and coleslaw. Everything looked pretty good and she said she would get it again. Perch Dinner was great about 6 or 7 nice size pieces. The kids fish in chips was 3 big cod pieces for 4.99 with drink and fries. Soups on point. Philly cheese steak is big portion and Smelt not on menu but they do have perfectly fried. Blue Goose is a get place for good food good prices on the beers and if you like live music they have.
