What an amazing find!!! We stopped in for dinner during our vacation and loved Bluebird! Beautiful building, wonderful decor, friendly staff and the BEST BBQ!! We loved that they even offer a vegan choice for the non meat eaters! What our table got: The meat eater: Brisket plate the meat was cooked perfectly flavored Great! Generous portion! Charred broccoli fresh cooked perfect! Mac n cheese cheese was super dense, cheesy delicious! The Vegan : Seitan /mushrooms delicious!!!! I have had lots of seitan dishes but this was perfect! Bluebird is an utter delight. My friends and I met up for Sunday brunch. It is located in the Portage Park neighbourhood. The menu is succinct but has a wide variety of options from fried chicken and waffles to loco moco to a breakfast burrito. I was deciding between the chicken waffles and the breakfast burrito but settled on the waffles in the end. The chicken thighs and the maple butter sold me on the idea. We ordered the challah French toast to share as a group. I also ordered a pomegranate mimosa to pair with my meal. I was extremely pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere of Bluebird and would definitely plan to come back.
Just ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and duck fat fries from here. The shrimp had NO flavor. All I could taste was the breading it was fried in. MESSAGE TO THE COOKS AT BLUEBIRD: Please season the shrimp before you fry it! Then it will have flavor! The Po Boy tastes like some greasy sandwich you would get at a restaurant in a mall food court. The slaw in the po boy was sweet, which was unlike any po boy I've had before. I did not like the sweetness of the slaw with the taste of shrimp together. The duck fat fries are WAY to greasy for me. I will not order from here again.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace with a view of the river. Every staff member, from the person who took our reservations to our servers, was quite friendly. The food was delicious, and the Brussels sprouts were exceptional. We shared a BBQ dinner for two among three of us and still had leftovers to take home. Went here for the first time last week and really enjoyed it! All of the food was excellent and service was great. I was there for my birthday and they gave us a free slice of the best chocolate cake. I will definitely be back.
Great vinegar based BBQ, top 2 or 3 on the east coast, not just great BBQ for Vermont, great BBQ period! Loved the sides as well, charred broccoli was amazing, the greens were delicious, and awesome Cabot Mac n cheese.
We arrived late and sat at the bar. Not a lot of tables but that was fine. I ordered the turkey ,mash potatoes and Mac n cheese. My son ordered the pulled pork. Both were very good and plenty of leftovers.
This restaurant was fine, but a bit pricey. The flavors were definitely on the heavier side, with a lot of cheese. I suppose I need to start cooking more to meet my dietary needs. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
