Was so looking forward to this. Have wanted to try BoBeau for a long time. Pretty disappointed. Service was very good and friendly but food so do. Lobster bisque was delish but the cheese on the flatbread was overpowering and tasted off. Husband had the scallops which were way over spiced (hot spicy) without acknowledgement of that on the menu. There was a street fair and spotlights shining.right into the restaurant in my face at the table. They had no way to block it. I was a good sport but way over it by the end of dinner. To boot…when we got the bill, there was a $2 charge for “rocks” in each cocktail. Really, charge for the ice? They corrected it but I wonder how long no one noticed and...
We were disappointed as the food was bland. We brought guests as Bo Beau's food is normally very good. The ceviche was dry. The ribeye, potatoes and veggies needed seasoning so did the halibut entree. They brought out a nice complimentary dessert for our friend's birthday little chocolate volcano cake needed salt.
I 'm not sure what Cohn is thinking closing this place up. San Diego doesn 't need another Mexican joint (especially at Cohn prices) but we do need our fabulous Brussels Sprouts. Tough to say good-bye to one of the few nice restaurants in La Mesa.

Bo beau is sublime, soup to nuts. The ambiance, the food, the service--the entire staff. And, the best patio dining in San Diego!
Excellent food and service. A little sad it’s going to be shutting down soon, but I hope their new restaurant does well.
