What a walk down memory lane this is!!! We haven’t been to Bobby’s Bistro, or its more upscale sister restaurant the Beachcomber in years. Twenty years ago, these two restaurants were the absolute “It” place, the best in Tampa.Amazingly, the decor is exactly the same as 20 years ago but somehow doesn’t look dated at all. The food was fantastic. We met George, our server, who is a bit of a celebrity, and he was super nice and gave me a supersized shot! Glad to give this notable establishment a great review!
Disappointing experience. I arrived with high expectations based on strong recommendations. The restaurant has potential, but there are problems with the execution. The signature side dish, Bistro Potatoes, was ice cold in the middle and remained that way even after being sent back to the kitchen. On a positive note, they have an excellent wine list shared with their partner restaurant, and the atmosphere is delightful.
My wife and I visited the restaurant last night, but we were not particularly impressed. I had the shrimp, which was just average. The chowder, however, was good. My wife ordered the pork chop, and it too was merely average. I wouldn't rate it five stars. It's possible that the restaurant was out of season and the usual chef was absent. On the plus side, they do have a great wine list.
I was disappointed that I was charged $40.00 for a piece of fish, no sides. Fish was dry with little flavor. The sherry garlic shrimp was good. Poor selection of sides, only 2 and expensive. Atmosphere was ok. Way too expensive for the food you get. My bill was over $95.00 which included 2 glasses of wine. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We were a party of 8. Our waiter was very good. Although I'm speaking only for myself, the much talked about potatoes were hard and dry. The burger was good. the garlic shrimp seemed gritty, but perhaps I had a piece on my bread plate and perhaps itwas a crumb. Chicken Picatta looked small.
Beautiful fine dining experience, the service was outstanding, the food was fresh and full of flavor. And the wine menu!! Wow! The owners have a very impressive cellular and a winery. Sits on the main strip, across from the beach. Eat a great meal thenhit up one of the many bars and shops.
Our food was very good, except for the fillet mignon. The waiter asked how our food was, my husband said his lobster was great but the steak was tough. The waiter said nothing! This was our first time at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we won't be back.
Bobby's is consistently excellent. It's a laid-back and relaxing spot to eat on Clearwater Beach. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. While it may not be the ideal place for kids, I'd still rate it well above five stars. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
