If you're heading to the Laurentians, make sure to stop by this bakery just before St. Sauveur. Located 90 seconds off exit 57 of Highway 15, you won't be disappointed by the delicious baked goods here. Made with love and local ingredients, including some from the small farm on site, the Desayuno Espanol sandwich, Babka Gianduja, Chausson aux Pomme, S'more Croissant, Fruit Croissant, and Croissant Ma Femme are all must-try items. The interior seating area is bright and airy, but can be noisy during peak hours. For a more peaceful experience, opt for outdoor seating at the picnic tables or take a short walk down the road to Riviere du Nord and relax at Chemin du Pont park. Enjoy!
I can't even express how much I love this restaurant! The bread has a crunchy crust on the outside and is soft and chewy on the inside. We tried several types and each one was amazing. I live in Montreal and no other place compares to the bread I had at Merci La Vie! We also enjoyed a delicious peach lemonade (with a hint of rosemary) and the Korean grilled pork banh mi was fantastic. It may be more expensive than other places I've been to, but they use the highest quality ingredients and I truly believe it's worth every penny. The bread is made with love. I will go to Merci La Vie any chance I get!
Let's start with the positive. The breads and other products are exceptional. The ingredients chosen are impeccable. The menu is creative. However, the quality of service is disappointing.If we ask an additional question we see the waiter's sigh or eyes towards the sky, water? Will wait for you. Do you want to learn more about dough and sourdough? You will find that exchanges are limited, brief, disinterested and unempathetic. In short, we eat well but sit on the terrace. I love everything about this place! The vibes are just great; the food is delicious; the people are just all happy; finally, it’s right off the petit train du nord allowing you to pick up some yummy pastries and a lemonade or iced coffee or hot chocolate or hot coffee and take a walk on the track most perfect Sunday morning/afternoon activity.
