A gem in Carleton Place both for the food and the views! It has an incredible water backdrop if you?re on the patio and inside is a bougie, modern atmosphere. I?ve been here a few times now and have not been disappointed- food and service has been more or less consistently good (we had one bad experience on both fronts). Ribs are fall off the bone and calamari was a different on two separate occasions (one we liked and the other wasn?t much of a fan of but will give it credit for the creativity). Would highly recommend.
The main courses took an eternity to arrive. My husband ordered three fish tacos but only received two, with a third one hurriedly brought out later. The tacos were served with fries that tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. I ordered fish with angel hair pasta. While the fish was bland but acceptable, the pasta was drenched in oil, making it difficult to finish the dish. It's really unfortunate because the patio and views are truly charming! That's why I'm giving it 3 stars.
The gnocchi also had a pronounced curry taste, and I found it lacking in vegetables while being overloaded with olives. The tiramisu had barely any coffee flavor, and the blueberry tart tasted stale. Surprisingly, the standout items of the meal were the Caesar salad and the bread that accompanied the gnocchi. Overall, the 35-minute drive was definitely not worth it, and I won't be returning in the future.
Had lunch there yesterday. The best lunch I've had all year. The waitress was excellent. I had mussels with a terrific slightly spicy sauce. Delightful. My companions had the Italian sandwich which was large and tasty and it came with fries that were crisp and enjoyable. We ate outside looking out over the waterfall and river. The service was exceptionally friendly, and the menu offered some great options. I would have appreciated more vegetarian choices, but I enjoyed what I ordered—though it wasn't a large portion, it was just enough for me. I had the beet salad while my friend opted for the burger. The atmosphere was delightful, and I particularly loved the decor.
Absolutely stunning view if your table is at the patio, which is perfect for summer time. Inside decor is also unique classy. Good service from the host , they always do their best to find you the table that meet your needs. Our waitress was also very good . Love the calamari we had. It's a great place for meals , recommended????????????
Beautiful place with a nice view. The quality of the main dish was perfect. Although the soup ???? of the day was not to my liking, it may be to yours. But they noticed I barely touched it and didn't charge me for it. The service was fantastic. The quality-price value was above expectations. Well done!
