We had a terrible experience at Bourbon Steak last night. I was in Dana point for the week for work and looked forward to a final meal at the restaurant. It held special memories since I had been a member of the Monarch Resort for years, having moved away in 2021. There were four of us. We were seated outside, which was not an issue but had asked to have the heater moved closer to our table. After asking again 25 minutes later, someone finally acknowledged us and accommodated. We placed our order at 7:45 pm for a tomahawk steak. The food did not arrive until 9:10 pm. I recently had dinner at Bourbon Steak in the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, and it was excellent. The food was cooked to perfection, with every dish hitting the mark. Whether you're into steak or something else, the menu has great options, and everything I tried was spot on. The service was top-notch, with staff who were friendly and really knew their stuff. Plus, the wine list is fantastic—there’s something for everyone and plenty of great pairings. If you’re in the area or staying at the hotel, I highly recommend Bourbon Steak. It’s definitely worth a visit for a great meal and a great experience.
Really enjoyed our dinner this evening. First time at this restaurant we split a 16 oz Delmonico Ribeye, wedge salad, brussel sprouts loaded baked potato. Restaurant spoils you with additional perks of a taste of their soup of the day, a flight of 3 different types of French fries sauces, a brioche dinner roll stuffed with garlic butter then a sea salt dark chocolate when you are leaving. Excellent food service. They also offer a $20 discount to the required $30 valet parking.
The only thing that outperfomed the food and the drinks was the service. The food was incredible and the staff was even better. So attentive, so passionate, and really knew their stuff. Seemed like anyone in the restaurant could talk about every aspect of the food and drinks as if they had made it themselves from scratch. Chef Michael Mina is a genius! Food: 5

We had an amazing celebration of a 30th birthday of our future daughter in law. The service was phenomenal in every way. Geo was our waiter and he was outstanding, attentive without being too attentive. Jaci the sommelier picked out perfect wine for us. We could not have enjoyed Bourbon Steak more than we did! The food was amazing but the experience and service exceeded all expectations. Our server, Shaina, and maitre’d, Lyle, made us feel like total VIPs the whole night. A special evening for dinner at a lovely hotel, in a stunning restaurant! A modern steakhouse, with options. Delicious amuse-bouche’ were delivered and enjoyed!
