After a week in France, I felt obliged to write a review for the only place that didn't seem interested in my family's money or our presence as customers. We selected this place as it was opposite the Hypermarket we'd used. I admit that my French isn't the best, but we got through a whole week using the phrases I can manage and tried at all locations to order in English (more often than not the staff initiated the use of English though, to better understand our requests). Sadly, the waitress at this place didn't seem interested in my broken French and then proceeded to ignore any sort of engagement with us. We ordered the meal, along with the buffet. Arrived back in Saint-Valéry later than planned so lunch was a bit of a rush job. How wrong it is to enter a place without a bit of a background check...this was one of those moments. First things first, it's expensive regardless of what might happen next. What happens next is to cry about for weeks. A tasteless, obviously reheated former frozen packaged industrial thing that might have looked like a crusted pie with some crazed imagination. To make matters worse still, fishbones came free as a bonus. This is France...wine country supreme. Shopping centre on the outskirts of St Valery, not the centre of town, in case you have been deceived by the name It isn't yet open when we arrive, but the lady is washing the windows ready for the crowds to arrive from the Rederie which is causing traffic chaos round the corner. A coffee? No problem. And we sit outside and watch the French shop. Most of the menu seems to be pizza, and no doubt it competes with the McDo two doors along for peckish shoppers. A pleasant place to sit, although I might have liked it less if every table was full
We ate at this restaurant on our way to St Valery sur Somme. Nice spacious restaurant, good service and fresh food. The only drawback is the location which is on the edge of a shopping area. Fine if you live locally and want a good quality meal after a visit to the fit shop or supermarket but for a visitor the town of St Valery is so lovely it would be a shame not too eat there.
