My husband and I recently had the worst experience here. We went to Bayville with our kids and stopped in to eat. The place was empty except for 1 guy at the bar. Our waitress seemed annoyed that she had to take our orders. After we placed our orders she brought out my daughters food rather quickly but then it took over an hour for my food and my husbands food to come. We couldn't even find the waitress to ask what was taking so long. She finally came over after more people walked in and said that it would be a few more minutes. I have tried my best with this restaurant. The hours do not seem to match the website, and neither do the specials. We have gone there at least 5 times in early spring only to find closed doors despite the website saying it would be open. Last night, we decided to try it again instead of going to Breakers, but we were disappointed. There were football games playing, but only one table and 2 bar guests on a beautiful Sunday. The bar was dirty and had not been cleaned in days, with fruit flies buzzing around the TV screens. The volume of the TVs was also too loud. Ordered burbon BBQ roasted chicken with asparagus, mashed potatoes and gravy and southern biscuit. 6pm Saturday night. Was told no mashed potatoes had been made so I couldn't have that , cooked ends up making me the wrong dinner so had to remake mine. I was going to just pass on dinner wasn't having a good feeling. Dinner arrives with the manager and he apologizes and takes 25% off bill. We ordered the tilapia sandwich with a side of fries, hot wings, chicken quesadilla, clam chowder, and fried calamari! The food was mediocre. Not bad enough to criticize but also not good enough to call home and share a nice restaurant. I like to always have a silver lining so I like to say that fried calamari was the best dish that we ordered. It was battered and fried and covered with a sweet and spicy glaze. The restaurant had a strange odor. It was the off-season, so there was only one other person at the bar, who appeared to be a friend of the bartender. They only had two drinks available on tap. The bartender was friendly and engaged in conversation with us. When I asked for a cider, he honestly admitted that they do not carry cider, but there is a place nearby that does.
Stopped in for a drink after Friday night dinner. The bathrooms were disgusting and one of the toilets was stopped up. The entire place smelled like dirty mop and the beer was flat. Couldn't stand to hang around, so promptly left. It's a great location, so it's too bad the place isn't maintained like it should be.
Stopped in on a Friday night. Order a after dinner drink on the rocks and was charged $2.00 more. When I asked the waitress why. She said the bartender told her that's how they do it. $2.00 for ice. The place smelled when you walked in and bartender wasn't very friendly. More interesting in watching TV.

The restaurant was shut down by the health department on October 27, 2017 after rats and rodents were discovered on the premises.
