We have been going to the Chinese Restaurant across the road for decades, but decided to give this one a try. Not worth the visit. Although the Restaurant was half empty, we had to wait quite some time to be seated by a very uninterested man, not very welcoming. The Menu is very basic, not much choice, in particular the Dim Sum Menu, no pictures so you don't know how the Dim Sum Dishes look. We ordered two Starters and two Main Courses. The Main Courses came first, so we thought that they had forgotten about the Starters. We decided not to remind them, as we could live without a Starter. Halfway through the Main Course, she brought the Starters. When queried about that, the Waitress said tha...

The restaurant supposedly specializes in Cantonese and Shanghainese cuisine, but i cannot comment on the Shanghainese food as we ate dimsum for lunch. It’s certainly not the best we’ve had, but it would definitely be above average. What’s good are the prawn in steamed rice rolls, pan fried carrot cake, almond flake coated fried prawn dumplings and steamed scallop dumplings. What’s passable are the abalone and chicken porridge (you could literally count the razor thin streaks of abalone) and sadly, the char siew bao (the barbecue aroma was missing and the gravy was somewhat letdown). Service was quite attentive, but i guess that also depends on the crowd.

I would have rated this restaurant as excellent if not for the slightly subdue service quality. The food, however, was amazing. We came there for a classic Peking duck and we got it exactly as we wanted and expected and even more with the bone soup served later. This is a very rare treat these days given that most Chinese restaurants can't be bothered with Peking ducks and just offer much easier to cook crispy ones. Another very kind word about the facilities clean, easy to access and nicely scented. In short, thank you for being different and keep the great work up!

in this era of making reservations, was great to be able to walk into a nice large well lit place with lots of tables we were seated but took a long time before we could attract anyone to come and take our order very veggie friendly and everything tasted very good all came quickly just the rice was served without the veggies that were to accompany which in the end we ate separately superb cheug fun, dumplings, salt and pepper asparagus the rice and veggies in black bean sauce great meal Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Food and service really good. Expensive but that’s reflected in the high quality food. Weird thing happened at the end of the meal which ruined the evening. There was a bloke that cleared the entire restaurant. I thought I could hear a) a lion roaring b) someone drowning in the Bath c) someone chocking to death. Staff laughed it off but it went on for 30m and louder and louder. Weird Chinese guy sitting alone trying to regurgitate an eel

@brightcourtyard , the contemporary Chinese restaurant known for its modern Cantonese cuisine and innovative Shanghai dishes, has some exciting news to share. They have recently opened @bakercanteenlondon , an extension of their renowned restaurant, offering even more delectable options for your taste buds to explore. Food was excellent, service wasn’t. Staff wasn’t attentive, there was a time during my meal I needed something and I had to shout twice to get somebody come out from the back, the place was left without a single staff on sight, quiet extraordinary. We’ve got charged sixteen pound and fifty nine pence service charge.
