This place is fantastic! It's beautifully designed, and the staff is incredibly friendly. There’s even a spot where you can browse books while you enjoy your meal. They offer great non-dairy milk options like macadamia, coconut, and almond milk. Everything is quite affordable, especially for New York standards when it comes to coffee and food. The vibe here is really cool! There are plenty of seating options, both inside—with various seating areas—and outside, including a lovely space at the back of the café. The atmosphere is so relaxing. I will definitely be coming back!
My boyfriend and I are regular customers at Ida's Nearbout and Brookside Market, as they are both owned by the same person and we enjoy these places. However, last Saturday, I took a friend to the café at Brookside Market to show her around the neighborhood since she recently moved to Sunnyside. Unfortunately, the person at the register was very rude and unwelcoming. The barista was not friendly either. I felt embarrassed by the way my friend was treated while placing her order. It was disappointing, and I don’t think any of us will be returning.
Brookside Market is simply unbeatable. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the coffee is fantastic. The food and pastries are delightful, with a wide variety of choices to suit any need, whether you're looking for a healthy breakfast or some comfort food after a night out. They also offer an impressive range of specialty items, including exquisite natural wines! And as if that wasn't enough, they have a lovely back patio—a rare find for a coffee shop in NYC! I can't recommend this place highly enough.
This great cafe is now open in the evening as a wine bar, and everything about it is perfect: candlelit atmosphere, peaceful back garden, concise and tasty menu, interesting wines, lovely service. I am so, so happy it's now an option for dinner in the neighborhood! We had the oysters, steak, and bitter salad, and everything was wonderful.

i came to the market to take a meeting after 5pm, but by then they had changed to be less café-y and more restaurant-y. they were very kind and let me take my loud meeting anyways, but now there’s a no-laptop policy after 5. it’s great vibes as a café and restaurant, and i’d recommend checking out both options!Food: 3/5
The coffee here is excellent and robust, and the breakfasts and lunches are really tasty. The restaurant has a beautiful aesthetic and a lovely back garden, as well as street seating available. The staff is friendly and welcoming. However, I'm not a fan of the way Indigenous culture is used as decoration.

What a charming little place! I'm currently trying out their sandwich options, and so far, Hardy's Favorite is my absolute favorite. I highly recommend it!
