Sad to say another beloved restaurant has lost its touch. Not sure if it is due to covid or inflation. But this was me and hubbies favorite spot. We recently placed 2 fish platter orders. There was literally NO FISH just the shell. No lie!! I couldnot believe it. So I took pictures ... Sadly we will not be returning as this was our second attempt . not sure what happened... Brothers kitchen used to hit the spot. NOTICE TO ALL RESTAURANTS WE GET IT INFLATION IS REAL ... BUT PLEASE STOP SKIMPING ONINGREDIENTS AND QUALITY OF FOOD/SERVICE .... ohhhh how we are going to miss the old fish sandwiches ... They were the best!!!Ughhhh.
I heard through the grapevine about this place. I figured I'd give it a try. We ordered fried whiting,chicken and rib platters. They all came with two sides and cornbread. Our sides mac and cheese, greens and sweet potatoes. All the meats were reallygood,the whiting, nicely seasoned and crispy. The mac and cheese was ok, it had a different flavor than Im accustomed to.Myonly concern was my cornbread was alittle burnt and my candied sweets were more mashed, but very tasty. I still would return ,cause overall it was very tasty.
I stopped by Brothers Kitchen on my way home and tried it for the first time, and I was not disappointed! The fried fish was amazing—four generous pieces for just $8. The entire restaurant was spotless, which is a big plus for me. I would return just for the cleanliness alone! Both the dining area and the kitchen were very well-maintained. I definitely plan to come back for more fish, and I wanted to try the sweet potato pie, but they were all out! I suggest they make some extra and keep them in the freezer!
I ordered the fish lunch special along with five wings, cornbread, and coleslaw. I was surprised by the generous portion of fish, but I couldn't finish it—not because of the quantity, but due to the burnt flavor from being cooked in old grease. The wings had a similar taste. We ended up only eating one piece of fish and two wings. The cornbread was the highlight, but the coleslaw missed the mark. Unfortunately, a lot of food went to waste.

Wow. Generous portions. Good food. Had a bit of a wait for pickup because all online orders but well worth the wait. Family so we had BBQ fish(tangy), shrimp,macNcheese, yams, fried fish,potato salad and wings(whole so wing+drum) Potato Salad tastes likethe deviled egg filling and I?m not complaining so damn good! Fish was super tasty both BBQ Fried. Generous portions superfilling! Last that cornbread just tops it off!
I like patronaging my people but Sunday about 7:30pm. The Mac n cheese was burnt scraped pan, cornbread was crumbled had to use a fork to eat. I will never go back there again. The food was not seasoned gpod. It was the worst. I usually go to Aunt Berta but was closed. Brother money is hard to get. Don't cheat people. Whoever is cooking and serving the food needs a lesson on business customers and how to keep them.

I was very disappointed with my meal. The shrimp was not at all what I expected for soul food; they seemed to be frozen popcorn shrimp instead of fresh. The mac and cheese wasn't baked, and the greens were bland and undercooked. The ribs did not fall off the bone—they were tough, and I had to add barbecue sauce just to improve their taste. Overall, it was not a good experience.
