After reading other reviews and hearing about the invention of the double decker pizza at this place, we had to give it a try. The pizza was delicious and we really enjoyed the flavors. However, the cashier (wearing glasses) who took our order seemed to be having a bad day or was simply disinterested. There was no greeting or welcoming attitude, and their responses to our questions were short and not very helpful.
Buffos is an institution in Highwood, with a mostly local clientele. I am sure that years ago, when the food was made fresh in-house, the reputation was warranted. These days, the food is average reminiscent of Sysco ready-made dishes. I cannot speak for the pizza, but the other apps and dishes are nothing to write home about. With so many food choices around, we will not be back.
I used to work at this restaurant 25 years ago, and back then it had the best pizza in town. Even to this day, it still holds that title. I don't think they have changed the sauce recipe at all in all these years. The double decker pizza has always been the star of the menu, and if you haven't tried it yet, you're definitely missing out.
While living in Highwood, I always made sure to visit Buffo's for a meal in a welcoming atmosphere. The food at Buffo's is absolutely delicious, with traditional family recipes passed down through generations. I hope that Lenny continues to keep the restaurant thriving. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Great service, nice selection on the menu and the food always meets expectations. The interior holds many historical relics of Highwood and Highland Park. The outdoor seating is always a plus.
This fast food pizza and wings joint is a great option. While I wasn't a fan of their calamari, the BBQ wings, onion rings, and pizza were all delicious for the value.
We went on a Monday night, when the restaurant hosts Pub Trivia USA. It was a full house. Food was good, and they have local beer.
