"Quite possibly the only quality restaurant in Altadena, though it tends to get very busy, which unfortunately slows down the service significantly. Fortunately, the great ambiance makes up for it. The pasta and wine are incredible, and the focaccia bread is absolutely unmatched. My goodness, it’s incomparable."

I visited Bulgarini Gelato with four friends on a Friday night, and it was pleasantly uncrowded. I had made a phone reservation a few days earlier. We ordered a Margherita Pizza and three pasta dishes from the menu: Spaghettini Con Anatra (homemade spaghettini with duck ragu sauce), Spaghetti Alla Carbonara Romana (spaghetti with pork belly), and Fettuccine Al Funghi (hand-cut egg noodles with Portobello and porcini mushrooms). I entered this restaurant with high hopes based on what I'd read and seen, and it certainly lived up to my expectations! A staff member suggested trying the seasonal flavors of lemon and almond, so we also decided to sample the strawberry and coffee offerings. Honestly, the lemon and almond flavors were amazing. They were incredibly refreshing, with no artificial tastes—just a fresh, creamy, subtly sweet lemon combined with roasted almonds. I had high hopes for this place from what I read and saw, and I was not disappointed!! The gentleman recommended seasonal flavors — lemon and almond, and we also tried strawberry and coffee. Honestly, lemon and almond were above and beyond what we’ve expected. They were soooo goood!! And they were so good together!!! Super refreshing, no artificial flavors, just tasted like fresh, creamy delicately sweet lemon and freshly roasted almond. Dinner here was an amazing and unexpected discovery! It was as though a restaurant from Italy had dropped into an unassuming strip mall. We were seated outside on a warm summer evening, though heat lamps are available for cooler times. We started with the light, crisp focaccia and a savory ribollita. We then had a variety of pasta dishes, including a light duck ragu and a rich carbonara. The pasta was fresh and had a great texture, again reminiscent of Italy. Fantastic gelato and cannolis! This place is a hidden gem and an absolutely superb culinary treat. This was our first time here and we will certainly be back again and again. The fresh peach (seasonal) sorbet was the best I’ve ever tasted and the cannolis were as good as Mike’s or Modern in Boston. If you order a gelato, go for the medium. It is only a slightly higher cost, but you’ll get much more gelato. The prices may seem high, but you get what you pay for and the high quality is worth the cost. Without exaggeration, this was the best gelato I’ve had in California.

The food is crafted with love and passion; it's as authentic as it comes—no gimmicks, no fillers, just pure, mouthwatering flavors! And when it comes to dessert, you absolutely must try the incredible gelato; I guarantee you’ve never had anything like it. Leo is such a wonderful host, treating everyone like family. The gelato at this restaurant is truly fantastic! I had a delightful experience dining here. The prices are quite reasonable, averaging about $10 to $20 per person. The food was exceptional, earning a perfect score of 5 out of 5. However, the service was just average, so I would give it a rating of 3. The atmosphere also rated a 3 for me. If you decide to stop by, I highly recommend trying the Sicilian Pistachio Gelato!

Wow wow wow.... The food is soooo amazing. I brought a party of 13 and the whole food was Top Notch. Authentic Italian cuisine compared to other restaurants. Everything's done in the house. Great choice of meals, good portions, beautiful ambience. The wine was divine. I had 3 types of Gelato. My guest was so impressed by the food and the owner. I'm back here for Date Night and Girls Night.
