Non-inclusive hipster bar, don’t expect to feel welcomed unless you’re a devoted hipster with band shirts you don’t listen to and tattoos you don’t know the meaning of, ripEdit in response to owner: I came into your bar whole heartedly ready to include and enjoy my time, but I don’t have tattoos, and felt quite judged and met with big ego from another patron. I’m saying the environment isn’t inclusive because when I brought up that I felt disrespected in a kind and gentle way I was met with more ego, mocked and then told to find another bar. Very unwilling environment. I just closed a tour with my band and this place was recommended to us. We were looking for a great night, but the staff was rude and unfriendly. They also refused to play music for their males to enjoy (it was basically inaudible) and they apparently do not serve double. Then they asked us to go while we were waiting for our Uber at the door while they were closed. It was a very strange mood with bad service.
It had been 5 years since my last belly up at Bumbos, but I'm glad it's still kicking. A proper bar with a proper pour. Nice staff, laid back atmosphere, good tunes and pet friendly patio. They also have a wide foot rest at the bar which amazingly some bars omit altogether. If I lived in Hamtramck, I would live in Bumbos Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My friends and I were eager to visit this place, especially since we heard great things about it from several people back in Toronto. Unfortunately, we were greeted by unfriendly staff, despite having tipped generously. The atmosphere felt odd, lacking any music. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this bar to anyone. Such an amazing place. The clientele, the staff, and the building itself are all magical. Their menu includes their standards as well as rotating cocktails. I highly recommend a spicy branch. For a chill night any day of the week, stop in and settle in.
Probably my favorite bar in Hamtramck. One of my favorite bars in Detroit! Very cool, diverse and the bartenders are really cool. I felt at home. I should have bought a T-shirt!
A favorite neighborhood bar. Vibes are always right, great craft cocktails and beer selection. A+ patio.
