From the moment we arrived, the service at Bumpa’s was exceptionally warm and welcoming, despite the hostess being busy. We tried several dishes, including the Beer, Meat, and Cheese appetizer. The platter was tasty overall, although the meat was slightly dry. The Stag Boar Burger was flavorful but had a distinctive taste that I’m unsure I’d choose again. Read excellent reviews and wanted some of their fries. We were definitely not disappointed. We went on a Tuesday for lunch during the winter so it was very slow. The Disco fries with gravy, caramelized onions, cheese and short rib) were a meal in itself. The food was really, really good. I ordered the foot long with caramelized onions, chili, and beer cheese. One of the best I?ve ever had! Hush puppies were delicious and authentic. My husband ordered the special burger which was good, but he didn?t read closely enough to see it was a smashed burger and wanted more meat. His fault! He should have ordered a double patty. Owner came over to greet thank for the business (nice touch), waitress hostess were friendly. Scotch egg was insanely delicious. Flavors were on point! Stag boar burger had great flavor (recommended for a foodie). Disco fries were ok. A bitsalty for me but I think it’s because I was blown away by the symphony of flavors in the scotch egg burger. We shared the Jo's Disco Fries, and I ordered the Southpaw Burger. Everything was absolutely delicious! The fries arrived piping hot and were seasoned just right. The cheese was wonderfully stretchy, and the gravy complemented the fries perfectly. My burger was cooked just how I like it, and the pickles and pickled onions were a fantastic match. The service was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
We ordered the Jo's Disco Fries to share and I ordered the Southpaw Burger. Everything was so delicious! The fries came out steaming hot and they were seasoned to perfection. The cheese was super stretchy and the gravy was a great addition to thefries. My burger was cooked perfectly and paired very well with the pickles and pickles onions. The service was great and Iwould definitely recommend this to place to anyone!
This place was so great! Caroline was our server and she was amazing! We got a scotch egg which was phenomenal. The mustard sauce was on point. I got the grilled cheese and a side of fries and ranch. For me, the bread was too toasted and the ranch wastoo thick, but the flavors were spot on. My fiance got the bison and boar burger with the blueberry gastrique and she loved it.
Wow! What an incredible place! We had a group of six and were served quickly. If you don’t order fries with your meal, you’re really missing out. The burger meat was decent, but the chili was absolutely fantastic! We’ll definitely be back next Friday! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
