I also tried the salmon taco, and while it was really good, the mahi-mahi was the star of the show. As a side, I got the coleslaw, which was also delicious. My wife ordered the Bangin' Baja tacos, and she loved hers as well. Just three days ago, we dined at a restaurant right down the street from this place and spent three times as much, but it didn’t even come close to being as good. Another great aspect is that our waitress managed six tables and we never ran out of anything. The decor is fantastic; you’d think you were at a beach or pier somewhere. I've loved Cabo ever since I first discovered it in Blacksburg. The Roanoke location maintains the same fantastic atmosphere and is a great place to bring friends or anyone eager to try something new and exciting. I do miss the buffalo shrimp tacos that they removed from the menu recently. There aren’t many other spicy staples left, aside from the serrano chicken, but I primarily come here for the fish and shrimp! The specials are always delicious whenever I visit, and nobody makes tortillas quite like Cabo. Portions are generous, so if you’re a light eater, I recommend sharing side dishes—unless you want to take some leftovers home!
Ohh!!!! I just tasted a unicorn!! Has to be! Nothing on this world was ment to taste THAT good! I'm a taco guy! Love love love tacos. These are formed in a government lab! Everyone knows good tacos have two shells.. To contain juice. These guys pull it off with one beautiful shell.. But the fish... Mahi Mahi.. oh... brother, sister.. Lemme tell ya.. wow. NO contest this is the BEST taco I've had the pleasure to put in my face!! I'm driving an hour each way for lunch.. twice a week if I can to eat here.!! I'm so in lust with these tacos!!
in roanoke for a limited time to visit and we could stop here before we are getting too big lick. great service from the beginning and fun beach atmosphere. there were seats on two flat and bar seats as well. the chips and salsa that come standard seemed as if they had been freshly prepared this day and all our entrees quickly came out without someone having to wait an exorbitant time like some others in the opposite. many drinks specialties and options of alcohol to be. group lovers were the garnelen tacos hands down. prost! Me and my family went here yesterday for dinner. The food was excellent! The crab/shrimp dip with pita triangles were delicious. We ordered multiple tacos and everyone of them were visually appealing and the taste was excellent. Our kids are picky eaters so we were hesitant because they prefer chicken nuggets and hotdogs. They really enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Overall a great experience! Our waitress was excellent and suggested great options for us to try.
We were all very pleased with our experience. The food was fresh and served hot, and my wife was particularly impressed. My taco salad was excellent—it felt like an authentic Mexican dish, unlike your typical Mexican restaurant. The salsa was similar to pico de gallo, with large chunks of tomatoes and jalapeños, and it was delicious. I definitely recommend checking this place out! Our waiter was prompt, friendly, and very helpful with all our questions.
The corn/pico salsa and chips were great and the best part of my meal. If you don't like seafood, you probably won't like the food. I ordered a grilled chicken Baja bowl and it all tasted like fish. Pictured below...I ate the taco shell, which was good, too. Our server was lovely, worked hard to manage the entire floor by herself, and did a great job taking care of all the tables on the floor.
The chips were stale, the cheese dip had a lumpy texture similar to paste, and the fish in the tacos came in greasy nugget form with just three small pieces per taco. The avocado pasta salad didn't contain any avocados at all. I also never received a refill on my water. When I paid my $42 bill with a $100 bill, I was even asked if I needed change. First time here never been more excited to leave a review first impression go along way....... And they nailed it!! Nice professional courteous staff quick service guy says it would take 15 mins I was out in 9 food was amazing no complaints and it was put together beautifully!!
