Wow what an absolutely delightful experience my partner and I had at Stella Belle. The cafe was really busy but that didn’t take away from the positive and happy vibes from the staff. The very back of the cafe, where we found a window seat, was so sunny and warm. So cozy.I ordered the shakshuka, my partner ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, and we split a rainbow matcha latte, and a regular coffee. The Guatemalan light roast was delicious. Always fun to try out new brunch places! I really like Café Astoria and Stella Belle. (The two places are connected, and you can order their food and drinks together. The interior was beautiful but casual. Lots of fun drink options on the menu, including many colorful Instagram worthy coffees. We just got a simple latte. We ordered food using a QR code on the table which link to the online menu and online payment system, then sat and waited, and our server brought our food. I absolutely adore this restaurant and have been a regular customer for years. Every time I order, I am never disappointed with what I receive. I especially love the tasty vegetarian options that are not just an afterthought like at other places. Today, I ordered delivery through Toast and unfortunately only received half of my order due to a mistake by the delivery person. However, Stella Belle personally called me to let me know they noticed the error and delivered the missing items themselves. There are board games if needed or just relax into a breakfast or other meal. You order with your phone and it comes directly to your table. …not at all complicated; groups can order/pay separately and it still arrives at the right table). My daughter and I have come in almost every morning before school throughout the winter. Stella Belle and its partner, Cafe Astoria, have become one of our absolute favorite spots (I was going to say in the Twin Cities, but really, favorite spots, period. Food is delicious (crepes, sandwiches, salads, entrees, all great , love that I can get lunch/dinner for breakfast, and the special coffees (Creme Brulee or Campfire complete with toasted marshmallow! are divine. I went to this restaurant for a croissant and cappuccino. The counter I sat at looked clean but was actually sticky. I waited 15 minutes for my cappuccino, but they took my table plaque away without bringing me my drink. I had to ask for it again, and when I finally got it, the milk was over-steamed and whipped, resulting in a scalded foam mountain on top of the coffee. They recommend leaving a tip before receiving any service. The croissant was the only thing that was acceptable in my experience.
The food was amazing but i am not a order on your phone, pay on your phone kind of person. That is the one reason I will not go back. If I am going out to eat I want a server and personal service with a menu I can see. I know it seems to be the new way, it is not for me. I went with a group of 4 people and having one person pay lead to us spending too much time figuring out ordering on one phone. We missed out on time we could have spent visiting. This is the only place that my guy doesn't need to hit the gym before we go out to eat. The food is light, flavorful, and almost healthy if you don't do what I do drink 2 cups of Cafe Astoria coffee and get baked goods. It's delicious food that's not flashy, but still quite instagrammable and fills you up just right. I call it grazing food. The service is quick and good. It's one of our favorite places for coffee dates.
