Very cute restaurant with great food. Unfortunately, they need to do a lot of work on their customer service. Abrupt short greeting, almost seemed to be a bother when we asked to be seated. Sat at the table for a while before someone came to table to take order and ended up being about 4 minutes after breakfast time closed, waitress said sorry only lunch available now (even though we had been sitting and in the cafe for about 5-10 minutes. Not accommodating and poor customer service. Similar to other reviews I read. It’s a shame because the cafe is cute and food is good, but really does put a downer to your meal when customer service is poor at best.
I thought I'd share a recent experience I had at Juniper. It was pouring rain, and I came in with my baby and toddler for baked goods and a coffee after a stroll around town. We were hoping to sit but we were told immediately that we needed to order food in order to get a table. There were empty tables and it was a very quiet time of day. It was very disappointing, to say the least. I guess my reason for sharing this is to forewarn others who might be in a similar situation as me. We ended up eating outside in the rain. I've never experienced such poor customer service. Really grateful there are other places in Hudson that offer better service.
DANGEROUS. Watch out if you have ALLERGIES. When ordering my dish I mentioned a specific allergy that I have. The waitress went to check with the manager and came back telling me that my order was safe. Actually it was not the case. I did have a very small bite and was sick all afternoon. This is DANGEROUS and clearly not serious. Although i asked for the order to be prepared again without the sauce that could actually get me straight to the hospital, i didnt even receive any apologies from the manager or the waitress. Won't return there, ever.
We went for a coffee, but were advised in a cheerful tone that we couldn't be seated, in the 3 open tables I counted , unless we're were [eating]. In fairness I don't remember the exact words used, but I didn't like it. We decided not to ask any clarifying questions and left. Went twice to eat here. The first time, ordered a sandwich and the food and service was excellent. Second time I ordered the Kale Waldorf and it was 95% Kale. Had to hunt for the rest of the salad, buried under a mountain of green.Staff member did not appreciate my feedback when I expressed my disappointment. Customer service failed that day.
We picked up lunch here last week and the food was delicious. They make very tasty sandwiches and salads. We were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of really nice ceramic homewares they sell in-store too. We’ll definitely be back here again soon!
This cafe has never disappointed me, there sandwiches are absolutely delicious and always very well made, good presentation of the plate as well: ! I always love coming here for a quick matcha run aswell:
