We do visit other Cafe Rouge establishments where the service has been good but I don't think we've ever had satisfactory service in Bury St Edmunds, which is our local restaurant. Here it always seems to take an inordinate length of time to get our meal, regardless of how busy it is. On this occasion, there was only a handful of customers dining but we had to wait over 45 minutes for our meal. The waitress had to be asked for things that should have been supplied as a matter of course, e.g. Steak knives. We also had to ask more than once for other items, e.g.drinks. Poor Show!!

I just wanted one more milk for my son, really, that's her average chain restaurant. there is nothing to complain about while there is nothing to leave a real impression, and I had to laugh when the woman who commanded our was not familiar with the French words used on the menu, how familiar and pommes. I will eat here again
We were in Bury St Edmunds for the weekend and had made a reservation at Cafe Rouge for dinner on Saturday night at 7:30. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy but gradually began to clear out, including our waitress. After our first two courses, we felt neglected and had a hard time getting our waitress's attention. The food was delicious, but the service was lacking.
I was very disappointed in the quality of the desert Eton Mess. This was so small, had no fruit in it and was basically a few pieces of meringue with a small amount of ice cream and some fruit cordial. My friend and I did complain pleasantly and were given our coffees on the house a small gesture.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating my partner's birthday. The food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing, and the staff provided exceptional customer service. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening and we look forward to returning.
Yes, it is a franchise, and yes, all Cafe Rouges have the same food, but the ambience and the service is great at the Bury St Edmunds cafe.

Went here for a late lunch, early dinner I ordered the french onion soup as an appetizer, it was alright.
Small portions average service poor value for money won't bother again.
