we thought of a pint and stayed for a few with snacks. I used to live in Scotland, and you guys left off were beaten. if they love haggis, they'll go here. I wish we could have stayed for dinner. her menu is very. mischievous and they have an extensive whisky list. the red ladder scottish server was so welcoming and friendly. I'm going to dinate 100% here when I return. we were interested in the whisky tasting on the back. from the sounds of him, the hostess was very knowledgeable and taught everyone who visited the right facts.
we have eaten here twice in the last two months, and we were not disappointed either. the service is great and the food was excellent. the Haggis dinner was great, like the steak pee, then a deep fritted Mars bar for dessert... with ice and a toffe sauce like on a stick-toffee pudding. I can't wait to try the next one. while they are here, do not forget to try a scotch or two. they have over 500 different bottles and the Scotch pickled egg is a great snack while they are!
Even though the area is called little Portugal, the Caledonian is a scotch lovers paradise. The food is true Scottish fair though the selection is somewhat limited. The real treat is the beverage list. It has the most comprehensive list of scotch whiskies that I...have ever seen an the beer, while not nearly as extensive is geniunely Scottish. We sat on the outdoor patio which made it even better. Service was friendly and prompt.
great where this is. one of the best whisky bars in big smoke or elsewhere for this occasion. and a good restaurant for booting. I ate it outside Scotland. the staff is friendly, intelligent, helpful and funny to chat with. I am from lanark, Scottland, where I live now in winnipeg, but this will be one of my stops when I visit toronto. if they do not visit this excellent facility, then they are a real daftie, a real no-hoper. If you are looking for Scotch Whisky in Toronto...nothing compares. I haven't been to a place with a selection like this outside of Scotland. Another plus is having BrewDog on tap. Very hard to find in Toronto. The service is fast and friendly. The Sunday...Roast is a must as well. Very happy to have Caledonian as mu neighborhood pub
we had such a wonderful time in the caledonian. the atmosphere is warm and cozy. our server was attentive and really did our evening. we enjoyed the extreme flight of whisky, cocktails and the Scottish behave on the tap. the Scotch egg, haggis and sticky pudding. were all excellent decisions. we would not hesitate to return!
Just like being in Scotland. All Scottish meals and beers. Haggis, fish and chips, steak pie, sausage rolls, scotch eggs. Tennents beers, bellhaven beers plus amazing selection of Scotch. Great service. Outdoor patio. So many great things to say about this authentic Scottish pub.
If you like scotch or whiskey this is a must stop. They have over 500 types of scotch and the knowledge to back it up. There food was authentic and very good. had a small 15 person tasting event containing some food and other drinks. the whiskys offered for tasting were excellent, eating was great, and the service was great. it turned out to be an excellent event about everyone.
