We were so disappointed with our dining experience at Calhoun’s on Bearden Hill. On Christmas Eve you expect a wonderful dinner and atmosphere, but it was any but. We felt so rushed as if we were holding them up. We had 7:45pm reservation and only stayed about an hour. They stopped serving beer and wine half way through our dinner without telling us (we only got one drink). Finally 20 minutes later the server was able to get me another glass of wine but failed to bring the rest of our party another drink. The salmon was very dry and tasted like an overcooked frozen product. The staff were loud and pretty much acted like we were not there as they were cleaning the floors and rushing to get ou...
Started with wine being served in a dirty glass. Sent that back. Sat down at 6:30. Appetizers didn’t come out until 7:15 after being told the kitchen was backed up. We had ordered our dinner at the same time. By 745 I went to the manager. At 750 our server told us our dinner was 2 minutes away. At 8:00 it was served in shifts. All the food was cold, dry and not edible. When the manager came over to us he said “I was thrown to the wolves”. Completely inappropriate. Do not go!
The service was excellent. Our waitress was delightful, and the management even came over to check on us. However, the food was quite bland and lacked flavor. I felt that we paid too much given the taste. But since it was Christmas and it was a challenge to get staff to work, we decided not to complain.
The sides and salads are quite good, some even very good. The appetizers are decent but lean more towards greasy bar food rather than being gourmet. Unfortunately, the BBQ options and chicken are quite dry and overcooked. It seems that the food is better suited for events and catering. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Had Thanksgiving dinner at Calhoun's yesterday! I love that they offer a real turkey and dressing meal along with a piece of pumpkin cheesecake for a very reasonable price. Tasty food and no cooking or cleanup required. Will do again next year!
This is a great spot to visit if you're in town and craving a delicious meal in a cozy setting. The service was exceptional, and we had a wonderful evening.
Really nice that they were able to accommodate us on short notice. The beef brisket is outstanding!
