It was great to find this place! I had just finished a long morning of hiking and walking around South Knoxville, and I wanted something quick and healthy for lunch. Being a part of the LGBTQ+ community myself this place truly appealed to me. I walked in and was at first surprised to find so many youths hanging out there, but then it dawned on me what a wonderful gesture that is for youths of all background to have such a safe space in Knoxville, which is known to be a more conservative city. Not long after entering I was greeted in a friendly manner. I placed an order for an LGBT (lettuce, guacamole, bacon, tomato) sandwich and a matcha latte. I then sat in a comfy booth. South Press is a peaceful refuge. You feel good about supporting this small business that does so much for the LBGTQ community here in Knoxville. There is lots of seating if you are meeting up with friends or just need to camp out at a booth and study. The lattes are delicious. I personally like the everything bagel with avocado spread. The local teas are also fabulous if you’re not a coffee drinker. The staff is kind and friendly. Spend your time and your money here!
Absolutely the best shop! Toffee coffee and the LGBT sandwich is as just perfect and hit the spot with this hot weather. I can’t remember the beautiful people that worked this morning (7/16/2024) but they were so sweet and helpful with recommending what to eat and drink! They loved on my grandbaby and were great! Joslynn runs an amazing, inclusive business. 100000/10 we will be back!
Super tasty. Got the L.G.B.T. which is a BLT on a croissant with guac. The croissant was perfectly cooked with nice crunch. All flavors great. Regular coffee was on point. The food is great for a coffee shop, absolutely love the coffee, and the staff are friendly and provide a safe atmosphere for all! The vibes of the actual shop is so cozy and safe, it’s my favorite spot near campus and great spot to drink coffee and work on things, love this place <3
I didn't have anything to eat, so I can't rate it. Loved the atmosphere! Tons of tables and chairs along with comfy seating with couches and chairs. The staff was friendly, polite, fun, and generous. Will be back for sure!
The staff were extremely kind and helpful. We also LOVED the unique decorations and artwork. We tried the flatbread pizza, lattes, and cream soda. We enjoyed all of the food and felt very comfortable and relaxed.

This shop is the epitome of love and safety. It’s an honor to share a neighborhood with them. The coffee is super good too! I got the official beverage of bisexuality, an iced lavender latte with oat milk.
