I understand that it is a white-clothtable Italian restaurant in alamosa. only at any other place it seems to be either a fast food chain or mexican. a group of 10 of us met for the Saturday night dinner in this big downtown egg. played and sang Mexican melodies, server over and the people ate and laugh. it was a cheerful scene, and it ended everything, but at 8:30 on Saturday. that is ironic, because the southern part of the huge san luis valley is the Spanish/Mexico part of colorado. but it is also a rural and agricultural area, and farmers and agricultural workers hold early hours.
during our first visit to alamosa we decided to try calvillos and find an excellent buffet with many choices. the staff was great and the manager asked us again and again whether we wanted them to do everything we could think! we came in an hour before the closure if many buffets were short in the selection and what is outside is old, but not at calvillos. it was all fresh, tasty and a lot of it. the long and short of it is, great eating, great customer service and a great worth! I would recommend to everyone
Terrible! I went with a group and we had the buffet. one of the worst I have done. no tags or names on anything. what I could see and chose was not well cooked, cold or just gross! the only thing that was good were the homemade tortillas. that was very good. other than that, taco bell is better than this place go on, no need to waste their time here.
We liked it well enough. There were some unique items on the menu. I had their vegetarian enchalades without the cheese. It was good. My husband liked his combo plate too. There was live tableside music and a buffet.
great buffet also in the middle of the afternoon well on camp. very friendly staff and excellent service. some of the best Mexican food I had anywhere in the country. including when I lived in South Texas.
Excellent host, providing gracious greeting and check-out. Too bad the excellent menu offerings are cheapened by the all you can eat buffet. Festive live music and cheery wait staff. Recommended.
we sat right away. Thursday night. many parking spaces on the attached property. they start with free chips and salsa. the salsa was not.
Great green chili smothered breakfast burrito. They make sure your tea glass is never less than half full!
