If you're in Bordeaux looking for a substantial breakfast, this is the place. We ordered the English which consisted of two eggs, sausages, bacon, chips, pork n beans, sauteed mushrooms, toast & a baked tomato. Much more than we could eat but so much more than petit dejeuner. The kitchen even opened early to accommodate us. We ate here again after returning from a day in beautiful St. Emilion. It felt like a sacrilege, going into an English pub in France. We’d tried the other spirituous liquor vendors on the square and they weren’t quite right. Slow service and bad beer drive a man to take risks. The Cambridge was our last hope.The Cambridge Arms wasn’t the full Pommie experience. Compromises had been made. A semi-respectable range of beers (at respectable serving temperatures) was offered by pleasant publicans. Even nibblies made the rounds. We didn't realize this was a pub...or we would have passed it by. We never saw tge actual pub.....we sat around the corner, in the lovely square, in the sun. Very pub like menu, fish and chips, burgers. Plat du jour was a Sunday roast. We opted for one burger and the plat du jour, both very reasonably priced. The menu lists various beers, whiskeys etc but no wine. They have wine, you just have to ask. Our lunch arrived promptly and looked good. But everything was either cold or barely warm. Ordinarily we wouldn't go to a British or Irish themed pub abroad, but we were looking for a place to eat close by.This is the most authentic British pub I've been in abroad and better than many I've been in, in the UK. Right down to the aged furniture and worn carpet.To drink, I had a great pint of Guinness. The red wine was good too.The menu is traditional pub grub and good for it. I had the veggie burger, which was delicious. It was a meat style (which I like) great texture and flavour. 2 of the party had the fish and chips which they said was excellent as was the chicken and mushroom pie the 4th person in our party had.The service was good and the bill was reasonable. Cozy ambiance, super friendly staff, and great value for dishes. The interior feels so homey, there are twinkly lights and flags hanging all over. Service is great. One of my favorite spots in Bordeaux! I love coming here for drinks but they also have great dishes (very reasonably priced), and around winter time they have a delicious hot toddy pudding.
We opted for the fish and chips which was delicious. Light beer batter, homemade chips. Friendly, attentive service. Good value and a lively spot seated outside on the square with plenty of atmosphere. Will be back.
We needed some simple hot food and found it at the Arms. We had fish and chips (terribly french!) that were quite delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would happily go there again.

It quickly became my evening spot. The place is fun and the people are great. The pint is not overly priced, and the food is more than decent.
