I recently needed a café to feed (7 hungry cyclists a ‘Full English’ breakfast with (1 Veggie option at 7.30am prompt on a Friday morning prior to a full days cycle. OK, that’s probably not what serious cyclists would commence such a day with, but Hey, “Boys will be Boys”. The Canal Street café never disappointed, one guy (our Vegetarian was in rapture It’s a golden nugget, is embedded in the heart of an industrial estate naturally in close proximity to the Leeds Liverpool canal also Bootle Oriel Rd train station. Plus, its great place to watch the world go by in its many guises; Drivers, Postmen, Coppers, etc etc. The owner genial host (Stan greeted us with a beaming smile hearty salutation...
I visited this restaurant last week and tried their all day breakfast, which was served quickly and tasted delicious. The toast was thick and was served with butter. I also ordered a side of chips, which were crispy and not greasy. The meal, including a cup of tea, cost me five pounds. The restaurant is located on an industrial estate and may not stand out from the outside, but it is easily accessible through an underpass from Oriel Rd station, just a few minutes walk away.
I went with a few friends to grab a quick sandwich to go. The bacon was almost raw and I got two items on a roll for £2.60. My friend ordered the Mixers (5 items) and got a free coffee/tea for £2.50. I don't understand how these prices can be justified, especially since it's just a café and not a restaurant. I've been here a few times in the past and have never been satisfied with my order, except for the coffee.
This cafe is fantastic and reasonably priced. It offers great value for money and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend it and I'm glad I stopped by.

Great little cafe. Standard backstreet cafe fayre with really friendly staff. I pop in every morning before work for my breakfast.
Great dining experience! The restaurant is very clean and has a friendly atmosphere, making it a wonderful place for dinner.
