Quality Mexican Food all around. It is clear Carlos Mexican Food is a great asset to LA! The shredded Chicken is moist, but not terribly salty either. The carne asada has a nice flavor to it that is NOT greasy at all. The tortillas are perfectly warm and crisp, which is wrapped wonderfully the contents in the burrito. Simply put, the food dishes are balanced out nicely.again.NO grease at all. Service is pleasant and helpful; very friendly and checking in to see how you are doing. It seems that the restaurant is only open for two hours at lunchtime and another two hours from 4:30 to 6:30. The staff, who appear to be inexperienced, had difficulty understanding my order for a burrito. I ordered two to go, but they were missing three ingredients that I specifically requested. By 6 PM, I received my order, which was just a greasy mess of leftover meat. The cooks also didn’t know how to properly wrap and steam a burrito. Overall, I would rate the food a 2, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 1.
I've been dining at Carlos's for over a year, and I can say they offer fantastic food and excellent service. Recently, I decided to try their Carnitas, and now it's all I crave, although I still love their carne asada as well. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, whether you choose to dine in or take out. It’s a wonderful restaurant with amazing people and delicious food. I visited this restaurant for the first time and opted for takeout. My husband had the carne asada burrito, and I chose the carne asada super bowl—both were delicious! The food is genuinely authentic Mexican, and we can attest to that as we recently relocated from San Diego. Among the four cups of salsa provided, the darkest one was definitely the highlight. Overall, I would give the food, service, and ambiance a perfect 5!
The food is mediocre. I left my card there and did not realize until i was 2.5 hours away . The manager was unwilling to mail it to me even when I offered to pay for the evelope and postage. Plus, you need to pay for chips and salsa. There is a mexican place down the road in Chester go there, they have good food and REAL customer service. The food is good but kinda overpriced for what it is. That’s normal for up here. Be sure to specify rice and beans on the side because they love to charge you extra to fill your 16 dollar burrito with rice and beans. They don’t give chips and salsa while eating there either. Also with No waitresses or Booz it is like a glorified food truck. It is a VERY basic menu. I’ve been there many many times.
My husband and I shared the entree of 2 Carne Asada Tostadas with rice and beans and it was delicious. Dinner with drinks and chips and salsa was only $22. Amazing price for such a wonderful meal.
