Preston the surrounding area is becoming a hub of breweries specialist beer sellers however Carwyn continues to stand out as ‘the place’ to go if you are looking for exceptional (if not expensive) unique beers. I’d love to whinge about the high cost...of some of the beers some can be $36 for a pint however on the rare occasion I decided to splurge, I am consistently reminded how amazing the beer is and can justify the price. Don’t let that put you off, there are dozens of other reasonably priced tap beers, as well as being able to choose anything from the attached bottle shop to consume within the bar. The staff are extremely knowledgeable friendly, the bar is comfortable and not pretentious...
If you like beer, any beer, this is the place for you. If you like the finer ales this world has to offer, you must come here! A huge revolving tap list that's always stocked with some of the best beers (and often rare) plus...a front bottle shop that are willing to let you purchase from the front and drink out the back. This is by far the most well rounded bottleshops and/or bars for the beer lover. Great spot for a few mates to catch up and enjoy some high quality brews. They do some antipasti plates, but also fee free to order food from nearby and have it delivered to you (inside or outside the bar). Fantastic place! 10/10 Huggs
I have previously stopped buying a few take-away beers (of which there are many), but had no chance to keep the taps available and enjoy. the variety of beer is great (also my non-handcrafted beer-trinker-collector could find something. he liked) and I like that they offer a 150ml option before they fully commit to a particular beer. we had a few beers here, asked us about the road for more beer and eat before we returned here, as it was much better than the alternative (beer and ambiente.) I for one back!
Awesome range of beers from the fridges or off the shelves that will make any beer fanatic happy. There is also wine, whiskey and a few odd and ends for those who like something else. Bar in the back has plenty of beers on tap...with...the selection continually changing. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to help if you are a little overwhelmed. Carwyn Cellars is a good place to go for an afternoon beer particularly if you have a large group as they have plenty of room both inside and out. The interior was rather dark and pub like for such a sunny day, but the...outdoor seating was good. Beer was a good price, though many of the drinks chosen by our group were quite hoppy (good if you're into that sort of thing).
Thankfully not a VB or Carlton on the menu, only real beer from various parts of the world on tap in the bar. Different styles are always available, hoppy IPAs, spicy wheat beers, fruity beers, great ciders etc. The beers on offer change on a...regular basis. Not cheap but very good. It is always on my places to visit list when I come into Melbourne.
excellent offer of craft beers from local international breweries as well as a great selection of whisky's other spirituosen. weintrinkers will not be disfigured either. great beer garden, wonderful service hospitality as well as regular events make this a...must stop in melbourne.

bartender was very rude when I went into the bar to ask for a drink, as the table service app did not respond to my phone, to which I clearly showed him, but seemed uninterested me cut off withte set as if it were mine. where do they find these people?
