"We came here on the recommendation of the only other review. There were plusses and minuses. We did not get a choice of what we ate, we shared a large bowl of some sort of stew. Due to the complete absence of any english on the part of the propritors we are still not sure of exactly what it was. It did not particularily bother us, but it might make a difference to others. We do know sufficient portuguese to be able to order the house red. Could be the best option in the immediate vicinity."

I have enjoyed rabbit all over the world but this by far and away the best I have ever had. Other items on the menu looked fantastic. It had a great wine list of exceptional local wines and also from the Douro valley. It is a little tough to find but well worth the hunt as it is in an exquisitely decorated Moorish inner sanctum on the second floor. It is where all the locals go for a great meal. Don't get dragged into all the places on the street below it, that are trying to attract diners. This place needs no one out front as everyone knows where to go. One flight of stairs and a whole new world of food and wine engulfs you. Don't miss it! Pork, Fish, beef, vegetarian, something for everyon...
