This is one of the best, if not the best restaurant in the Saintes Maries area that we found during our weeks stay there. It's busy, and a reservation is necessary. We both really enjoyed the fresh oysters, and fish fillets, and even splashed out on a second bottle of wine! Desserts were homemade and delicious.Service was excellent, despite being overrun by customers! Friendly, and helpful staff, who had great patience with our rusty attempt at speaking French! Enjoy!
Very disappointed after hotel booked this for us. Very poor location on tatty, noisy street. Extremely sullen, unhelpful and slow service. Food was terrible, one of the worst meals ever eaten, steak poorly cooked and cheap, nasty meat. Wine was close to undrinkable, completely unacceptable in France. Avoid and will advise hotel not to recommend it.
Nothing wrong with this restautrant, the food was good, the service was good, everything was fine but because it is in the Michelin guide you expect a little bit more. To my taste it was not outstanding, nor was the meal especially nicely presented. But absolutely good enough and the price was not shocking either.
Pleasant restaurant in a quiet, side street. Very busy, we had reserved, others were queuing. There were only two waitresses so the service was slow with forty people eating, about equal numbers inside and out. Being the only place in town at least mentioned in the via michelin, I expected more than standard simple bistro food. Had a fish soup and fish dish as starter, then taureau in different preparations. Was fine but not outstanding. Service was not super-friendly either, just doing the job.Would not come back.
We had a warm welcome and a very pleasant evening. I ordered the Daube (a beef stew), which was the plate du jour. Even though one of the less expensive items, this was beautifully presented and, more importantly, was delicious. I would certainly go there again.
This place is out of main streets ,but worth the detour Small dining room ,friendly staff,diverse menu,good wine selection Try the 'tellines",small beach shells in a strong garlic sauce.1/2 hour job to get the flesh,but what a taste ! Prices are reasonnable
This is an excellent restaurant on Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer a little bit away from the main road. The food is amazingly good and very good value for money. Make sure you reserve a table in advance as it is impossible to find space in the evening without it. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Their daube de taureau, also known as gardiane de taureau, bull meat stewed in rich red wine, comes awfully close to my Platonic ideal of stewed meat.
