Casse-Croute Chez Mag

We were there today and ordered the famous lobster roll. We were dreaming about this after all the rave reviews. What we got was a wilted lettuce and shallot roll with two lobster claws. Even in a styrofoam container, it looked really good. The claws were perfectly cooked and the dressing was great and… that was it for the lobster… the rest was this mayonnaise drenched lettuce. We kept digging into the roll to find some lobster but couldn’t find any. On the good side the fries were very good and the mayo based sauce was very good and we know about real fries as we are from Montreal. We also ordered the squids calamari). We had heard good things about this place but were quite disappointed. The lobster roll was tasty and generous, but the chips were soggy and oily, though the onion rings were not as bad. This is just a takeout shack, and the person taking our order was brisk and unfriendly. There are picnic tables out back where we ate, but they were quite rustic and dirty. The prices were high, with the lobster roll and chips costing $26. Despite the busy crowd, we were taken aback by the cost. We won't be returning.

This little white shack on along the street offers an amazing Lobster Roll. There was so many chunks of lobster meat, we had to start with a fork before we could lift the warm bread roll to our mouths. Would have given 5 stars, but the fries and onion rings were loaded with too much salt. Otherwise, can't wait to return!

If you go on Orleans Island, you must stop to this Casse-Croute. They got real lobster guedille and poutine! Owners are absolutely amazing too !
