Last Friday night, I enjoyed a meal there with friends. The restaurant was bustling with couples and families, but we were fortunate to find seats right away. We started off with cocktails from their impressive selection of premium liquors and beers. For appetizers, we ordered calamari and shrimp dumplings, which were delicious and not greasy at all. My friends chose a chicken burger and the captain’s plate, while I opted for the tenderloin with horseradish sauce, swapping mashed potatoes for onion rings. Our waitress seemed a bit disorganized. My mom ordered a main course with a salad, which arrived promptly. However, we were left wondering how to eat it—there were no utensils provided. The main courses arrived about 15 minutes later, joining us, the now-wilty salad, and the pesky mosquitoes. To add to the frustration, we still had to ask for silverware. And as a cherry on top, they charge for refills. This being a bar/restaurant, we weren’t informed of this until we asked, as it wasn't mentioned on the menu. As for the service, our waitress was friendly, but she didn’t leave a lasting impression. I ordered a cheesesteak, while my husband opted for a turkey open-face sandwich. I really enjoyed my cheesesteak, but my husband found his to be just okay, with some overcooked parts that he jokingly tried to coax me into eating! Fortunately, I always check my food first—who knows, it might have been fine, but still! We also ordered an appetizer sampler that never arrived, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it’s a decent place to stop if you’re in the area.
Had a GREAT breakfast here. Homemade corned beef hash was fabulous. My I omelette and ham steak was really good and well made. Their home fries are freshly made and very good (not nasty little fried potatoes cubes). The decor was nice. The staff were friendly...great service. The kitchen was a little slow. We dine here fairly regularly in the summertime. Many of the dressings are homemade, the menu is extensive and the food tastes very fresh and is very good. Certainly it is not fine dining, but lif you're looking for a moderately priced meal I don't think you can go wrong dining at Cattail's. The only area for improvement would be adding a few more draft beer lines to expand their draft beer selection.
I hear it is pretty good. Tried stopping in for breakfast at 9:45am on a Saturday, but they weren't open yet. No sign posting any hours. I figured if they had a breakfast menu that they would be open at breakfast time. Maybe we can try again some other day in the afternoon. If you want breakfast I would suggest sleeping in that day though.
I went for a much-needed bike ride yesterday and decided to stop by Cattails for lunch. I ordered the cowboy burger with fries, and I have to say, it was one of the best burgers I've had around here. The fries were fantastic too. I would highly recommend Cattails to anyone looking for a great meal!
The restaurant was spotless and had a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's definitely kid-friendly. I tried the South of the Border burger along with sweet potato fries, and they were both excellent! The service was also very friendly. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
