I recently dined at this restaurant with another couple, following my wife's recommendation. The owner kindly introduced us to the concept of sharing plates and recommended appropriate portion sizes, letting us know we could always order more. We enjoyed Peking Duck Cigars, a Charcuterie board, slow cooked Lamb Shoulder, Barramundi, Creme Brulee, and Brownie for dessert. We paired our meal with a smooth Massoni Pinot Noir and finished off with flat whites. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were able to chat comfortably despite the restaurant being fully booked. Booked Cellar 8 as the venue for a long overdue catch up with friends. I wanted great food and wine at a reasonable price and Cellar 8 did not disappoint. We were greeted by the owner and discovered that this is a family owned and run business. The four of us shared the Peking Duck cigars and Slow Cooked Pork Tacos to start with then followed up with the Salmon and slow cooked lamb which were all absolutely delicious. It was a hot night and aircon would have been a blessing. Already planning my next visit albeit on a cooler night.
This restaurant is not your ordinary local. We regularly congregate here on a Friday night for great wine and amazing food. The portions are a good size for sharing and we always get the fish dish as it seems to be a specialty. We’ve never had a bad dish here and the staff are very welcoming. There is a wide selection of wines by the class that are a bit different to your normal offering. Do yourself a favour and check this place out.
Visited at 7pm on a Saturday evening for a drink. The manager confirmed that Cellar 8 is a wine bar but, even though the place was nearly empty, we couldn't sit down for a drink as they were fully booked. And they don't have a bar. We had a delightful shared plates meal for four with very good wine. Pulled pork tacos, slow cooked lamb and spatchcock were highlights, along with some lovely accompanying salads. Wine list was very good and excellent value. It was a cold night but the restaurant was cosy and had a lovely vibe. Not too noisy we could actually have a great conversation!
The restaurant offers delicious food perfect for sharing. The owners and staff are welcoming and enhance the overall experience. Don't miss out on the slow-cooked lamb and beef dishes, as well as the duck cigars for an appetizer. Be sure to ask for recommendations on some excellent boutique wines to complement your meal.
We seemed to be waiting for some time for food to arrive, would have been good to have this recognised had some compensation. Food when it did arrive was beautiful served with great wine in a suitable cellar type room. Shame about the wait but can go back!
A great little restaurant in Pymble. We love the share plates, especially the lamb shoulder. The menu isn't large which is not a problem in itself but it would be nice to see something new added from time to time for a little variation. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Love the ambiance, dedication to detail and the yummy nosh. Had fulfilling lunch with chums whose plates looked and tasted great.
