Chai Bertrand - Tisch resevieren

After all the wonderful reviews on here we arrived to try this place out and were looking forward to some fresh seafood. However, on our arrival we were told by a waiter that this is not a restaurant, is is an oyster degustation. Which basically means that you HAVE to order oysters, a minimum of 6 per person we were told. I cannot eat oysters and my husband doesn't like them. We were told that they only serve other things (prawns, winkles etc) alongside the oysters and if you don't have oysters then you cannot come in for anything else (no prawns, no other meals, no drinks etc). This is fair enough but we didn't feel this was made very clear (at least not to us) so although we didn't want to...

After an afternoon of wandering the boys wanted to sit, eat and drink whilst the girls wanted to bake on the beach. Chai Bertrand allowed us the best of both worlds right on the edge of the beach as we drank some wine and nibbled away on the local seafood offered - Oysters, Prawns and also some Sea Snails. We were quite satisfied and the girls got their brown on and even went for a dip. Everything was as fresh as you can get it being a seaside town so come and eat your fill

Went for the freshness of the oysters and found it. Sit by the shore and eat the product fresh out of the water. Small restaurant with limited menu, but all of it good. Local oysters were shucked to order and not a broken shell or bad one in the bunch. We had 4 dozen with local wine, pate' and shrimp. Stayed so long the tide came in! Friendly service but nothing fancy go and relax smell the sea and hear the seabirds.

Great oysters, prawns, bulots, pate, bread and wine to finish off an amazing spring afternoon in the middle of February. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming even though they'd obviously been run off their feet with the hordes of tourists and locals (unlike some of the other unfriendly places in the area). Fantastic position in an unspoilt position right on the edge of the water, almost could dangle my toes at high tide. The sparrows thought it all pretty good too.The best quality oysters we have ever tasted and we have tasted a few.Very resonably price and definitely more than a bakers dozen.Super friendly and informative service.

After hearing about the oysters my partner said this is the place. And yes she was right. The best I have ever had, the prawns tasted sweet, not normally a fan of snails but those sea snails were the great. The view was amazing staff...More

This is not a fancy place but it's not meant to be. There are choices besides oysters but the oysters were sublime, and the service was efficient and cheerful. There's a wealth of choices along the Bassin but this is surely one of the best.

This oyster shack is excellent, as others we tried, but the setting puts it over the top. The oysters, shrimp and whelks were all of excellent quality, and the paté was delicious. Wine is reasonably priced. A lovely simple dinner. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Fabulous oysters and prawns in a lovely location. Superb value and good friendly service. Can't wish for more for a simple lunch
