The food at Chaiyo is decent but not the best Thai in town. We've eaten at Chaiyo off and on for several years. I recommend going here for lunch (if you can find parking) because the prices for their lunch menu are much more reasonable than their dinners. They've also raised prices in general lately though.Well I haven't ordered their sushi, on the Thai side of their menu there's really not a bad item. Their curries and drunken noodles are flavourful and all of vegetables are usually pretty crisp. Any of their entrees can be made with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, or tofu so they are definitely vegetarian friendly. The vibe was totally off here. They had loud, fast paced music when I went, normally at Thai restaurants there is a calming atmosphere and that was not here. It felt like everything was rushed. Our food came out quickly, and mine was wrong the firsttime probably because they were rushing. The waitresses were constantly checking on us asking if we were okay. It felt like theycouldn't wait to get us out of there. The waitress almost spilled water on the table because she was moving too fast. The foodwas fine. Delicious!! I went to this restaurant with a friend for sushi and it did not disappoint. The Super Crunch and UT Rolls were amazing. The Volunteer Super Dragon was good, but somewhat similar to the others. I was extremely satisfied with the generous portion sizes and the quality of the flavors given the price. I am deducting one star because we arrived early for dinner and noticed that other guests arrived after us and were seated and served before us, causing a slight delay in receiving our food once we were finally able to place our order. Despite this, I would still definitely return.
worst experience. I've been here for three years. Today I was asked to go because I ordered my food before the time to go. there were twenty open tables. The drunken noodles at this restaurant were the best I've had in a while. They were saucy, filled with plenty of vegetables, had just the right amount of meat, and the portion size was very generous. They were happy to add extra spice if requested. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean and welcoming.
This is my husband's favorite restaurant in Knoxville. He has fond memories of eating here during his college years and the food did not disappoint. The restaurant is small and the service was a bit slow on a Friday afternoon, but our food arrived quickly once our order was taken.
The food is great, don’t get me wrong on that, but they have shady workers there. Went there the other day after a horrible day to get sushi, made my bill an even bill, but checked my bank account and they changed the tip to more.
