I made reservations for 4:15 and was greeted with a friendly smile on arrival. We were then accompanied to the roof terrace and greeted by another smile at the entrance. Due to the windy and relatively unpredictable weather in SF there are not so many beautiful roof bar/lounge. That must be the best we were. You will get a nice view of Market St, and the Town Hall at a distance as well as the Salesforce Tower at the other end. But it is not the view that makes this place special. In a way, it is moderate height with grassy surroundings is a nice way from the dirty tenderloin below. There are many illuminated fire pits to keep you warm, and it adds a unique mood that you need to be there to experience it. My No. 1 Roof Lounge in San Francisco. You will find it in downtown on the Proper Hotel, separate entrance (not the Hotel Main entrance). Well organized already on the ground, you will be accompanied to the right elevator. Arrive in the lounge you are already expected from your host who brings you to the table either inside or outside. Outside you have a breathtaking view over the downtown San Francisco. Each lounge has its own fireplace to not get cold. Overall nice people, well dressed, good mix of attractive ladies and gentlemen. Amazing drinks, delicious finger food and all topped by super service place to be!
These folks over here don 't pay their entertainment. They 've asked DJs to host events and DJ there and now they have done so but now the hotel refuses to pay. These are three of my good buddies that I know personally being screwed over. You should read some of my other Google reviews would you received plenty of eyeballs on them... going to keep this up until the checks are cashed and not in the mail because we already know you lie about that.Don 't patronize this business until they pay their employees and contractors.

I didn't rate everything outstanding at this restaurant because my partner and I were disappointed that they were unable to make **** Mary's for brunch. Despite the full bar and the price point of the venue, it was surprising that such a standard drink was not available. It was not a major issue, but for a Proper Hotel venue during brunch, I expect to be able to order a standard drink.
The staff at this restaurant could improve their customer service by providing better guidance on how to order food. We found that the servers took a while to come to our table to take our orders. As first-time customers, we were not aware that the paella was all-you-can-eat and that we had to pay separately for drinks. We had to ask for this information.
My date night was perfect thanks to Charmaine. We had to be turned away once because there was no space, but the second time was the charm for us. We were glad we visited Charmaine's restaurant, it was a wonderful experience.
Drinks were not strong for price. Other than that everything was excellent.
