The Bloomfield Scientific Club has been regularly going to Cheap Charlie's restaurant for 100% of it's meetings for the past two years. For 18 meetings and over 500 dinners there has never been anything but rave reviews for our dining experience. Dwayne and Katie Newstead have owned the restaurant since May 2022, and couldn't be more pleasant to work with. Our Club knows and interacts with the chefs Melissa, Brandon, and Vinnie at each meeting they are SO HELPFUL! Our recent waitresses, Carol and Emily, are fantastic workers and super friendly! We have wonderful buffet dinners with different delicious entrees every month (October through June). I hope that this great relationship continues!
Went there after a round of golf. Had a Shandy and a wrap with sweet potato fries. It's a bit dark and dated when you walk in, but they have a great menu. The food was outstanding, lots of choices for types of wraps and above that not just a regular wrap, but multiple choices like wheat, spinach etc. Shannon (I think) was our waitress. She was outstanding and was able to separate checks for all of us which is a bonus when you were there with 12 or more guys. As far as waiting, we were there at an off time so I really can't answer or not, but we got our food very quickly and we're served very quickly as well. Would definitely go back again.
It gets 3 stars 5 for the food and waitstaff -both were great! But take away two- one for the poor atmosphere and 1 for the owner. I came in several times. Once for lunch with my grandkids, once with my husband, once to see Brian Ayers play He was excellent BTW) and I ordered takeout numerous times. But the atmosphere inside was low. The owner appeared to be intoxicated but Robin was really sweet to me and my grandkids and is always nice, polite and inviting. I would definitely order takeout and if you don 't care about the atmosphere- It 's good.
I used to go there once a week with a friend for lunch. It was always a decent meal and reasonably priced. Not the last time!! Since the new owners took over prices have risen and portions have shrunk. We both had lunch fish fries and the portions wepitiful, for $12? Staff is great. I feel sorry for them. There appears to be lack of management. Waited an hour and 10 minutes for our food. When the food finally came out the chicken, Parm was burned. My grandson's steak was raw. He couldn't eat it after all that waiting. Just seems like the owner doesn't care.
Horrible service, food not brought out. Food was not that great. Giving it a 2 because we were here before and not as bad . But still only a 3ish.
Nice selection on the menu as well as very nice and happy wait staff! Daily specials are always fair priced and delicious!

Excellent Fish Fry Friday...decent size fish, with plenty of fries and Cole slaw. Staff was friendly and worked quickly
