My friend I went for lunch on Sunday. I am a regular diner at this establishment. Unfortunately our experience yesterday was not a good one. We both ordered Sunday lunch trio with a side of cauliflower cheese. We waited a good 30 minutes for our order then the cauliflower cheese arrived. We sent this back as we didn't yet have our mains and didn't want it to get cold. Our food finally came and then came the cauliflower cheese. Our mains were very nice but the cauliflower was terrible. It was not cooked through was very hard the cheese sauce was almost non existent. Visited for Sunday brunch First impressions positive but unfortunately didn’t last. Shown to table and told was order at bar or on app. So ordered on app. All ordered Sunday Roast meat and gravy great. Potatoes were tasteless Veg was under cooked. Waitresses took ages to clear table down We ordered deserts again on the app 2 of the deserts came up with errors so had to ask for some help the lady servicing behind the bar was rude said I’ve never used the app? Love this pub but experience has tended to be very good or very bad when eating. Took the family out for a celebration, and unfortunately, it was a bad experience. Waited almost an hour for main courses. 2 burgers were fine, but 2 chicken burgers were burnt, but my wife and son were so hungry that they ate it. I ordered steak medium rare and came out well done. Sent it back, waited 25 minutes for another one which unbelievably came out even more well done! The serving staff were great, and they gave us free desserts, but such a shame they can't get basic meals right. Won't be eating there again, unfortunately, as not spending £150-£200 to take the chance a meal is ok.
Visited for Dinner with my family and have nothing but positive things to say. The service was absolutely wonderful, and staff couldn’t help enough. The food was delicious and all of our dietary requirements were attended to with no trouble at all. A really lovely atmosphere, will definitely be coming for a family meal again soon! Visited on a Thursday night in August, staff were friendly Ashley was very attentive. The food was good, hearty portions. Would visit again!!
