We were surprisingly turned away from two Roussillon restaurants that stated they were closing soon and could not seat us. Not so at Chez Nino where we were warmly welcomed. The door and kitchen are at street level and the eating areas are on terraces tiered down the hillside. The young waitstaff are required to go up and down the many stairs all day long and have strong legs and a cheerful demeanor. While there, a large group of middle-aged bikers arrived and took over the lower terrace. There patches stated they were from the HOG of Bridge Avignon. Here they have wide plates, but not wide enough as the portions sag over the edges! Be aware when you order a starter, if you have eaten in the last twenty four hours you probably won't finish it.The portions are enormous. The food is simple, fresh, and well cooked. We were four and when the main dishes arrived it looked as though we had our own private market.It is a restaurant? Is it a bistro? Is it a cafe? The decor would fit into any of these classes. Only grouse, the service was a bit slow but it is in the centre of the red cliffs and next to the car park, very necessary when you stagger out.Oh, and they,ve got a wide door as well, and they need it!
Roussillon has many places to eat, but some seem to close early and many open late for dinner. Chez Nino will be open however! Go down the stairs to the terraces and sit at a table so that you can enjoy the view of the Roussillon cliffs.The staff is very attentive and helpful.The food is good, plentiful, healthy even, but it is pretty average good food. You can get sandwiches, pizzas, desserts, salads, beverages.
We were hungry after cycling all morning and stopped at this tiny cafe for a late lunch. The menu was limited but the coffee and service were ok, although the waitress forgot that we had specified no butter on our baguettes. The best part about this place is the balcony at the back, overlooking the gully.

Not a whole lot open. But it was mid-day, and Nino's was. It is really a perfectly located place, terraces overlooking the valley, right at the very beginning of town. We had a decent croque monsieur and okay warm goat cheese salad, and were happy to get it. Not fine dining but perfectly adequate.
Staff was a little bit confused since it was crowded, but entrecote and menu du jour were perfect. it's hard to find good esspresso in France, but this one was exactly I asked for- small one with cold milk aside.and it was opened at late lunch, which was also great.
We went here after seeing it recommended as a 'cheap eat' on TripAdvisor. We went for lunch on a weekday, had two omelettes, half a pizza and a bottle of water. The meals were served with a side salad. The bill came to roughly €35.
Nice view and okay food. Good place to visit. The view is very nice. Service very good. We tried the smoothies although they did not have too many options the ones we choose were fantastic.

we waited too much for the food so we decided to leave and take them away. they weren't even ready! a sandwitch with ham (and nothing else) and a hot dog. very expensive.
We enjoyed crepes and salad in this place twice. They have fast service, very reasonable prices and incredible views to the valley. Warmly recommended!
