I love this place. I've just finished my second dinner from Chicano's in two nights. If I was staying in town another night, I'd consider it. Night one was Lalo's Burrito. Wonderful. The beef was tender. The sauces were fantastic. The guacamole was right-on. The tortilla chips worked well as cutlery (I did take out and didn't get utensils). Night two was enchiladas verdes. Unstoppable. Everything worked. Got a sweet tea this time and it was such a good move. All of this was eaten at a hotel desk while watching Copa America. Peru got a red card and lost to Canada. More of a bar with food than a restaurant. Service was good, atmosphere was nice enough. Adequate amount of food for the price, I suppose. My Steak a la Diabla was fine, have had better but have also had worse, though the rice was undercooked and dry. My friend had the Tilapia en su Salsa, which marks the first time I've ever encountered fish in a sweet enough glaze to qualify as a dessert. It was served with rice that was also just as sweet. Safe to say we weren't fans of that one. Good chips and salsa, though.
We wanted to try a new place for a post-graduation dinner and this was definitely a winner. Quick, friendly service. Fresh, delicious food. Casual, but classy environment. Our old Mexican go-to has lost it's edge so we are going to give this one a shot at the title.

The food here was absolutely delicious. The place was packed for lunch, but we got our food quickly and it was all hot, so flavorful and the tacos were large. I got the tacos Al pastor ? would highly recommend if you love authentic yummy Mexican food!!!!
My favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in downtown Richmond ! This is my go-to Rib Eye steak with a la diabla shrimps w rice and beans oh and corn tortillas. They also make the best drinks ! (Mojitos are the best !
