We decided to try this restaurant on a whim after my husband had been raving about their cannoli shake for months. Even though it was a rainy Sunday, there were still some customers inside, likely regulars. We noticed a sign announcing their move from Hillside to Roosevelt Road. When we arrived, the owner was extremely friendly. The menu was a bit hard to read, but it featured all the essentials: hot dogs, beef sandwiches, combos, fries, pizzas, and shakes. I ordered a juicy Italian beef with hot oil, while my husband opted for a combo with hot peppers and, of course, the much-talked-about cannoli shake. I visited today and found it to be nothing extraordinary. I ordered the beef with hot peppers and dipped it. The bread was surprisingly sturdy and didn’t break, which I definitely appreciated. However, the prices are a bit high, with sandwiches and pizzas both priced at $6, plus a soda. The dish could have used a bit more flavor, but I'm not a huge fan of hot peppers; I prefer giardiniera instead. Would I return? Possibly, but not in the near future. I did like their menu options, featuring many of my favorites all in one place, so I might come back to try something else. One item that caught my attention was the cannoli shake—sounds delicious! The Italian ice was also quite good.
We ordered French fries, baked mushrooms, fountain drinks, and a double cheeseburger at the restaurant. The fries were delicious, and the mushrooms were full of flavor. However, the burger was a letdown, featuring an old and frozen patty. Despite that, we had a great overall experience. The staff was patient with our children and double-checked our order before handing it to us. Our total for a family of five came to around $80.
Wow! I can't believe I almost forgot about this place! The food is incredible! It takes me back to the little shack at the corner of 31st and Pulaski in Chicago. Each dish is cooked fresh and absolutely worth the wait. Instead of heading to those two fast food spots nearby, make sure to check out Chickies! You won't regret it. I’m already excited for my next visit!

I visited the restaurant today and was quite disappointed. The beef was shredded, and the fries, which Tiffany promised were fresh, did not meet expectations. I've attached a picture of the fries. Overall, it was not a great experience.
Great beef, sausage, pizza, hand cut fries the fried dough and italian lemonade is great too. The owner is a great guy as is the rest of the family and staff one of my go to places for a great sandwich and fries with reasonable prices
I've visited this place twice in a week, and the beef is the best I've ever had. Britney provided excellent service, and the staff overall was fantastic. Highly recommended!
Great beef sandwich, been getting my beefs from Chickies for 30 years, it's only gotten better, still my favorite giardinera on the planet.

This place is still open and doing a booming business! Friday at 12 noon! Good food and fast service. Variety and plenty of options.
The fries and sandwich bread are excellent. The Italian beef is tasty, and the service is commendable.
