It is annoying that Google will only allow accommodation review. Most people go to eat! Overall, the food was good. You can't reserve a table, but there was plenty of room for lunch. You choose your table and order at the bar. Service was polite and quick. We had Prawns in Garlic to start, very nice but not quite Gambas Pil Pil, followed by Filo lentil pie, which was wholesome and delicious with a lovely mushroom sauce. A wonderful dog friendly, country pub, with fabulous walking routes all around. The servers were all very helpful, kind to the dogs and thoughtful. We had a sharing platter and dessert. Every mouthful was delicious Food drinks: A wide selection of choices. A nice location for a highly recommended pub on most websites. They do not lie. A good but not extensive selection of cask ales (quality over quantity prevails) and an excellent selection of pub grub. The steak and kidney pie cannot be described without the use of superlatives. We went for a meal to celebrate a birthday. Excellent food and menu. Good choice of wines. Fantastic staff who were helpful and friendly. The constant breeze of cold air was not comfortable. I was pleased to have put my boots on and placed my coat over my legs.
