Note that after 17 o'clock this place becomes a tapas place, and the lunch sandwich menu (here listed) is not served but even though we got tapas instead of sandwiches as planned, it was very good menu item: the roasted kartoffels. then the chorizo. chicken liver was pretty good. the decorated paprika were good. meat plate was okay. Mustels were average. meat balls were kind of dry portion sizes were good for the price. good wine and beer selection ambiance was beautiful. a bit dark, but that's what they wanted for service was average. Burnt Bun and Undercooked Meat Yuck!. I ordered their meatball sub sandwich to take out. By the time I got back to the office I noticed that the grilled bun was severely burnt. I could not believe they thought that serving burnt food was acceptable. Obviously I am wrong. Whoever prepared the sandwich obviously would have noticed the burnt bun. The meatballs as well were not thoroughly cooked (they were a bit pink inside). I am definitely not going back.
we wanted to try this tapa place because of the reviews. we went to a full night and the place was empty when we arrived. between us 3 we ordered patatas bravas, chorizo honey, pollo au vin, paella and finished with churros. very creative Spanish inspired dishes. great drinks and wine selection. owner stephen quigley is one of my favorite bartenders; friendly, attentive and full of helpful suggestions. the paella is not traditional, but he is raised; carved Humboldt Squid and perfectly roasted rocks over a bed of sublimely fennel and tomato braided rice. to eat one of my favorite places in victoria. I've eaten a bit here. sangria was very special, how can you be wrong? the food tastes fresh and tasty here. not as tasteful as some other Spanish tapas in the city, but still good. the lemon cake I had for dessert was definitiw the highlight of the meal. will go again to try the midday seed.
Must-Visit. delicious food, great little caffe atmosphere, friendly staff. the chorizo was absolutely delicious and the cone of churros was not disappointed. highly recommended for an afternoon snack, lunch or just a coffee look.
Love Sandwiches and Coffee. I've been here several times for lunch. I usually have the Chorizo or the Calamari Sandwich. They are both delicious. A bit on the large size, but I always manage to eat it all. Very friendly staff.
