Christophe Bacquié Hôtel Du Castellet

Three stars in the Michelin means we expect the highest possible standard. The food was very good but we expected more creativity. €185 for the menu was not expensive. Amuses were excellent, fish slightly overdone, meat very good but lacked creativity, dessert was creative. However, the wine list ruined our experience: €48 for the cheapest glass of champagne is absurd. Worse was €90 for a bottle of Provencal wine that is available in every supermarket for €9,50. The Cote-Rotie we ordered was just a cheap village wine at a silly price. I have no problem with a mark-up but the winelist had too many cheap wines at ridiculous prices. Hotel du Castellet is not in the downtown of Le Castellet, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and is located beside of the airport of Le Castelett and the Paul Ricard Circuit. It is well-organized hotel with pools and spa, and very gorgeous. What's more, It also has 6 hole golf course in the site of the hotel. Restaurant Christoph Baquie is the gastronomic restaurant of the hotel. We selected “Au Fil des Années, Over the years” and I ordered wine paring, too. They served many and different amuse-bouche. Of course, they were tasty. We enjoyed local vegetables, Mediterranean octopus, and pigeon. They prepared good local wines, which were delightful for me.

Very friendly reception by the satff, excellent service, present but not .obnoxious. Our many course lunch was just exraodinary with very refined flavors, beautifully dressed dishes and a very elaborate gradation of wines by the glass. We will definitely be back. The only negative point compared to other similar restaurants is that the chef did not come to the tables and have a few words with his clients.

Exellent adress ..... we had a really pleasent dinner .... exellent quality..... only remark ..... iservice not adecuate at The le el of this place..... for sure that night they had some external occasional servers.... not professional at all. Deseet where simply faboulous........ i’ lo be surely back. !!

It is one of top restaurants we have been. the food was nothing less than Perfect. modern atmosphere, great service very pleasant, great young team this is not the old fashion french restaurants. nice wine list but i expect to get better.
