Yum. I wanted a quick dinner before hitting the road back to MA, and Manchester certainly has a lot of great sit-down options (note to self for when I am hopefully back in the area). I was looking for a local option that wouldn't break the bank and was still tasty. Cilantro fit the call! I ordered a small burrito--which in and of itself is kinda warranting a star, lol. After spending two days in Burlington, we returned to Stratton to visit Allie's sister. With no specific plans in mind, we decided to make a must-stop at the Vermont Country Store, checked out the West River Farmer's Market, and grabbed a quick lunch at Cilantro. I was a bit skeptical about ordering tacos in Vermont, but I was pleasantly surprised. I opted for the street tacos (as seen in the photo above) which were served in crispy corn tortillas and topped with cilantro, tomatillo, and chili sauce. Not only was this one of the most affordable places to eat in this tourist town, but it also offered some of the best food I've had in Southern Vermont.
Had the street tacos. Never saw a street taco that looked like these unless it was a street that ran behind an oil refinery. Opened the box to some kind of ground sunflower seed tortilla with some pink things on top, and brisket that was soaked in oil. The mound of cilantro covered up the train wreck I was about to eat and leave an oil slick on my shirt with. Go here if you have low standards and low cholesterol, or if you want to prank your blind friend that 's wearing a white shirt.
Not what I expected. Only 2 items, taco or burrito. But many meat and vegan filling options, all cruelty free. Delicious taco with homemade Chorizo sausage.Delightfully surprised how much I enjoyed the food.Only drawback is a personal one. I drink a lot when I eat. I must have a fountain soda and refills. Ordered a burrito with mushrooms, corn, avocado sauce, no sour cream or lettuce and it was AMAZING. I literally took a few bites and waited a few minutes so I could enjoy it for longer. The wait in line was a little long but they prepared the food SO QUICKLY! I ordered, went to the bathroom, came out and sat down and it was done. SO SO AMAZING! wish I could give more than 5
So, I change my review this place after a few years. cilantro seemed to go downhill in quality. they stole the prizes and eating is no longer very good. not to mention the service (at least in some places) is the lacking. everyone always seems to be in bad mood. time to spend my money elsewhere.
Delicious burritos! If you're on a road trip and find yourself in the heart of the area, make sure to check out this gem. The burritos are fantastic, made with fresh ingredients, and reasonably priced!
