"This was our first time here and it was great! We made a reservation a few days before and they gave us a window seat with a lovely view of the lake. My wife and I both had steak and it was done to perfection. The presentation was awesome too. This place was especially nice because of its quieter atmosphere than some of the other restaurants in Wasagaming. Will definitely be back."

The 45th (or so) almost-consecutive 'Rodych Family Sort-of-Reunion' is happening in again in Riding Mountain National Park, celebrating Canada's 150th birthday this year. My mom and I enjoyed a tasty meal at the Clubhouse Restaurant 204 at the RMNP Golf Course, today. The quality and presentation of the food along with the excellent service (thank you Kailan) and decor (log building with incredible art by Lynn Friesen), made the bill a lot more palatable. If you are looking for an amazing meal and have something to celebrate, then this is your restaurant.The restaurant has a diverse menu with lots of great choices, making it hard to decide on what to have. I had high expectations for this place after reading so many great reviews. The views are stunning. Unfortunately, due to a private function that was just wrapping up as we arrived, we did not get a table at the window. I ordered the short rib and my husband the pickerel. Both were presented beautifully. The short rib was OK. It was not as tender as I anticipated. I actually had to use a knife on a piece of meat that typically can be cut with a fork if braised correctly. It also seemed bland. The entire plate lacked flavor. This place has a fantastic view over looking the 9th hole green and Clear Lake. The restaurant is in the original log cabin clubhouse and is beautiful. Best restaurant atmosphere anywhere in Clear Lake.Food? Was brilliant on last visit. Filet was cooked to perfection , tender and very flavourful.Braised beef in Yorkshire pudding was delicious.It's an appetizer, that's definitely a meal. Let me preface this by saying we are long time cottagers at RMNP. Came in with my family after a round at clear lake golf course. I've eaten at the "Golf Course" restaurant before, but this time was truly exceptional. We had the onion rings and ribs as appetizers, which were excellent. My brother ordered mussels and fries in a delicious Pernod sauce. I had the fresh pickerel with crispy capers- light, fresh, and flavourful. Another member of my family had the stuffed chicken with creamy mushrooms. The favourite was my parents choice of the short ribs: it quiet honestly melted in your mouth. We were too full for dessert, but everything was baked in house. 10/10 would recommend and can't wait...
Every year we come up to Clear Lake we try to have a date night and this year we decided upon Clubhouse 204. We were not disappointed! We got a seat right by the window to the view of the lake below. I would recommend reserving a table there just to get those tables. My husband got the sirloin and I got the pickerel. The sirloin he said was really good, not his best ever but definitely delicious. The pickerel was amazing! It was lightly seasoned and paired with the capers, it was top-notch! I craved it weeks later. The staff was attentive but not overbearing, a good combination. We would certainly recommend it again and again!
Beyond expectations. The dishes served could be presented at any 5 star establishment in any city. Even if the food isn't exotic the preperation was absolutely superb. The presentation and plating were also appetizing. Vegetables were roasted to perfection, mashed potatoes were moist and flavorful. I had the schnitzel which was not greasy, but not dry. My wife had the stuffed chicken which had some outside the box flavors. A must try, worth the drive from Wasagaming. In my opinion its better than any other establishment in town.
Beautiful 75 year old log restaurant adjacent to the golf course. When booking try to get the window tables as you will have a wonderful view of the colorful lawn chairs, golf course and Clear Lake. (Chairs are a great photo op) Excellent pickeral with capers, and the braised beef short rib was to die for. Service was excellent. Wanted to check out the new Clubhouse 204 and met another there couple yesterday. Ordered the spinach salad, chicken wings, fries and drinks and totally enjoyed them, along with the appreciable historic venue, very attentive and courteous server and view of the lake from our window seat. Definitely recommend you give this place a try. Great value and nice presentation even for appetizers! We'll be back!! Hats off to the new chef.
