Booked a table for 8 for a family birthday celebration. Chose The **** as we wanted a walk in Trent Park before lunch. Was a little concerned because of some of the negative reviews and wanted to make sure my mum enjoyed herself, but our service was good and the food was certainly plentiful. Had ordered the Duo of Beef the week before at The Arkley and I have to say the portion size at the **** was MUCH bigger. The pub doesn’t feel as sophisticated as The Arkley, is a bit more lively, and the furniture is a little tired, but we all enjoyed our meals Seabass, Roast Pork, Roast Chicken, Tagliatelle and Beef. My family and I came to this restaurant for a roast on Sunday. We were greeted promptly by a friendly girl named Thierri, who served us with a big smile throughout our meal. She provided us with recommendations since it was our first time there. The roasts were delicious and came in generous portions. However, it was Thierri's exceptional service that stood out the most. I could not find a single fault with it. She is truly an asset to this establishment and will be a big reason why we come back!
Friday night catch up with friends. Usually sit in the bar area (as it is dog friendly) but this time chose to sit in the restaurant at the rear. Although the food was good, the service was a little rushed and unfortunately the upholstered furniture and decor was really below standard. It certainly needs a refurb urgently. Won’t be going back anytime soon.
The food at this restaurant is excellent. We ordered the Nourish Bowl and Prawns, both of which were extremely tasty and the portion sizes were good. The service was outstanding, with very accommodating and helpful staff.

Poor table service our table was not on the girls rounds to see if meals had been finished No one properly trained in customer service Just there to earn a few Bob and must have been a pain for them to be there
The rudest staff I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Accused my husband of being RACIST when he jokingly said barmaid didn't understand his cockney accent. Manager did not defuse the horrible situation
Very disappointed with the food. We were a party of 6 with different orders and everyone felt the same. The pork belly is not something we would recommend and the prawn linguine also.
I went for dinner on Sunday and was served by Georgina, who was absolutely wonderful! The service was great, and I will definitely be returning again!
