I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant, especially with their haddock fish and chips, which were outstanding. The thin batter was perfect, and the fish pieces were fresh and hearty. The fish shrimp tacos were also impressive. However, I found the calamari to be somewhat bland, and the soup didn't quite hit the mark for me; the mix of fish, clam, bacon, carrot, and celery in one bowl felt a bit off. On the plus side, the portion sizes were surprisingly generous for the price. Our waitress provided fantastic service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a simple, family-friendly dinner—his fish and chips are a safe bet!
When our meals finally arrived, the fish was fresh, crispy, and flaky, but unfortunately, it was overcooked. The fries were soggy and not particularly appetizing. The poutine had a generous amount of gravy, but there were very few cheese curds, although the portion size was decent. The fries in the poutine were also soggy, which was somewhat expected; however, there were a few that remained crispy. Overall, the experience was neither great nor terrible—it’s just a convenient option for a meal if you’re not in a hurry.
A real treasure in New Westminster! The haddock fish is a fantastic option for fish and chips, offering a rich flavor and delightful aroma. We also sampled the calamari, fried oysters, and onion rings, all of which were delicious. The chefs have done an excellent job of achieving the ideal balance between the batter and the food, so it wasn't too heavy on the batter. The tartar sauce and coleslaw were also fantastic! I will definitely be returning with a group in the future!
My boyfriend and I ordered four pieces of cod and chips, along with a large coleslaw and five homemade tartar sauces to go, which were only 5 cents each! However, when we got home, we discovered that one of the orders contained two small pieces of fish that barely amounted to one piece. The majority was batter, with very little actual fish. Absolutely amazing! I can’t think of a better way to describe it. We ordered the halibut fish and chips along with the prawns, and both dishes were bursting with flavor. This was my first experience with fish and chips, and I've officially become a fan! The restaurant also offers ample seating, convenient parking, and clean restrooms. Highly recommended!
The service was excellent; our server was quick and friendly. The restaurant was quite busy, which was understandable since it was one of the All You Can Eat days. The atmosphere was great, with a pleasant crowd—no rambunctious kids, just polite older patrons who were also enjoying their fish and chips!
