The lion 's share of Colombo Impex 's vast premises is devoted to shelves of groceries, but it was the bain-marie laden with authentic Sri Lankan standards that caught my eye. There 's an enticing selection of rustic, home-style curries, and an assortment of 'short eats ' such as pan rolls, pastries and stuffed rotis. <br/ <br/ I sampled a plate which included biryani style rice, beef curry, onion relish mango chutney, all for $7.20. This place serves the best Sri Lankan food I have had so far! All the other so-called Sri Lankan restaurants are subpar, with no flavor or too much spice. Colombo Restaurant has the most delicious biryani and fried rice. Just look at the mouth-watering picture below. The food is not overly spicy, allowing you to enjoy it as if you were in Sri Lanka. And the best part is, a plate of fried rice only costs $4.95! I doubt you can find such quality Sri Lankan cuisine at that price in Melbourne. Keep up the good work, we will definitely be back for more!
if you hunt for sri lankas food because I am colombo impex, is not bad, but not the best I have found (try Esher food in werribee for real rich and worth). they have good food, but disappointing not a loose leaf sri Lankan...tea (the quality sri lanka is famous for its tee so that I was surprised). The Takeaway series was good and very senshalese with a good selection of short-eats, although a tad expensive. the buffet was great, but $30 is pretty steep to lunch. the presentation of the buffet was very sri lankan. I'm going back, but I'm just here.

this place in the heart of the city dandenong sells most sri lanka food and they can enjoy a fresh daily cooked meal and baked at a reasonable price. not a flashy restaurant, but a good clean.
Foods are amazing,tried hoppers meal,Godamba roti meal.They were so good.Very friendly customer service.If you are a Sri Lankan foodie this is the best place. Keep up the good work.

The hoppers were excellent and Bandu was a great conversationalist. Very enjoyable experience.
